Background

The program aims to implement Nordic capacity determination according to the flow-based method with new business processes and IT support as a result.

With flow-based capacity calculation (Flowbased), we can use the existing transmission network more efficiently and thus transfer more electricity to consumers while maintaining operational reliability.

The method will be implemented in several steps and over several time horizons: the day before, the year before, the month before, and intraday.

Assignment Description

Flow-based method for capacity calculation is performed as a joint Nordic process where the client participates through data exchange with a central Nordic coordination function.

The work to establish the flow-based method over different time horizons involves effectively combining internal processes, systems, and data sources to meet the requirements set in the collaboration. There is therefore a need to understand the interplay of both business processes, market functions, and an integration landscape that extends beyond the client’s infrastructure. The assignment involves working as a solution architect to establish time horizons for the year before and the month before, as well as participating in investigations for other time horizons in the method.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the development of IT solutions correctly based on needs and with prerequisites from existing IT services in the organization, from both a business and technical perspective.
• Be responsible for the design of applications and integrations in accordance with the client’s target architecture, architectural principles, IT security architecture, and guidelines regarding standards. The solution architect must ensure that the technical solution complies with the requirements set by the domain architect.
• The solution architect collaborates with business architects and development teams (software architect), as well as with enterprise and infrastructure architects.
• Analyze needs (functional, non-functional) from strategic, tactical, and operational perspectives. You document the non-functional requirements and SLA requirements.
• Support initiatives in both projects and management from the idea stage, requirements specification, design, implementation, operation, and management throughout the process. You ensure the success of the current change initiative and support the establishment of management of applications or new solutions.
• Act as an expert for one or more IT systems/applications in discussions with the unit manager, domain architect, and management leader regarding new solutions or development of existing systems.
• Produce an updated ADD (TOGAF) and present it together with the domain architect for the Architecture Forum. Examples of deliverables: needs analysis, requirement descriptions, scenario descriptions/use cases, and solution design (architecture description).
• Communicate and anchor recommended solutions and choices with relevant target groups, at both strategic and operational levels.
