Avesta Vatten och Avfall AB is an environmental company owned by Avesta municipality. We operate several water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants, along with the associated pipeline networks. We are also responsible for waste collection under municipal responsibility. Avesta Vatten och Avfall is a well-managed company facing exciting challenges. We are working on projects for a new treatment plant, strengthening and securing water supply, expanding property-based collection, optimizing the recycling rate of our waste, and renewing our pipeline networks. Avesta Vatten och Avfall is an important part of Avesta municipality's future development as an attractive location for businesses and housing.

We are now looking for a water and wastewater engineer to join one of our teams of 12 people with a good mix of both new and more experienced employees. The group drives various projects within the operational area’s assignments and participates as experts in other projects. The staff works on various renewal projects and tasks related to water, waste, and recycling issues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an engaged and knowledgeable water and wastewater engineer focused on water treatment to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining systems and processes for water and wastewater treatment.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Project management of smaller projects, from planning to execution.
  • Conducting technical analyses and evaluations to optimize processes.
  • Ensuring that systems and processes meet national and international standards.
  • Collaborating with other engineers, technicians, and external partners.
  • Contributing to the development of sustainable and innovative solutions within the water and wastewater sector.

QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies:

  • University degree in water and wastewater engineering or equivalent education relevant to the position.
  • Driving license B

Desirable for the position:

  • Experience working in water treatment plants.
  • Strong technical skills and experience in project management.
  • Good knowledge of national and international standards within the water and wastewater sector.
