Summer Intern as Supply Planner

Do you want to be responsible for efficiently managing the flow of goods from suppliers to the central warehouse and ensuring high delivery service and optimal inventory levels? Are you a flexible and communicative problem solver with strong analytical skills? Then this could be the role for you - Semper is now looking for a summer intern as a Supply Planner at the office in Sundbyberg. Here you will be offered good development opportunities and a workplace with a warm and family-like atmosphere. If you want to work with FMCG in an international environment, this is your chance.

ABOUT THE POSITION

In the role of Supply Planner at Semper, you will belong to the Planning & Logistics Team and work closely with 3 other Planner colleagues. You will also have close contact with other functions in the company such as Customer & Logistics Service, Demand Planning, purchasing, sales, category, quality, and finance. Here you will report to the Head of Logistics Nordics and independently ensure deliveries within the promised lead time from suppliers within your scope to Semper's warehouse. The role also involves placing call-off orders, sharing forecasts, and booking ongoing transports. The department's main goal is high delivery service to customers while optimizing inventory levels and best-before dates.

Other tasks will include:

  • Proactively inform about risks for potential shortages or future overstock situations.
  • Planning and ordering of copack (Secondary placements)
  • Working towards minimal wastage of goods in finished goods inventory using inventory management in SAP: analyzing optimal batch size versus shelf life and production frequency, sales versus forecast, etc.
  • Owning the allocation process for your own assortment in shortage situations (securing volume allocation to customers according to fair share).
  • Monitoring logistics deviations on incoming deliveries weekly and ensuring that suppliers take necessary actions according to industry regulations.
  • Diverse data analysis in Excel and BI in consultation with the Head of Logistics and creating accompanying presentation materials in PPT.

Time period: Week 24 to week 33 (June 9 – August 15) for summer job. Possible opportunity to continue as a consultant on a temporary/part-time basis.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

  • Is studying to become a civil engineer/economist or another higher education with a specialization in logistics, technology, economics, or similar and has at least one year left of studies.
  • Is an advanced user of the Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Has a genuine interest in logistics and Supply Chain.
  • Speaks and writes fluently in Swedish and English.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Taken courses in basic logistics and/or Supply Chain.
  • Previous analytical experience/experience working with large data sets.
  • Experience with supplier contacts - preferably international.
  • Experience working in the SAP business system.

To succeed in the role, Semper sees that:

You are a driven and goal-oriented individual who is self-assured and does not hesitate to take the initiative for improvements or solve problems independently. With your structured approach, you have no difficulties delivering quality according to deadlines while being able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with changing demands. Your ability to collaborate with all relevant stakeholders and your excellent communication skills are key factors for your success.
