At ABB, we are dedicated to addressing global challenges. Our values: care, courage, curiosity, and collaboration - combined with a strong focus on diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities - are important drivers in our goal to empower everyone to create sustainable solutions. This is our story. Make it your story.
Your role and responsibilities
We need more people who share our passion for technology, who love solving our customers' technical problems, and who continuously develop alongside colleagues and customers! Therefore, we are now looking for you, an Automation Engineer or Process Engineer, who is passionate about automation, where you will work with project managers and other engineering colleagues on automation projects for our customers in the Swedish process industry, primarily the pharmaceutical industry.
The projects are of high technical complexity where ABB's market-leading DCS platform System 800xA is used to control processes with tailored solutions. We apply concepts based on the system's batch functionality, from the design phase to commissioning and follow-up on-site at our customers.
You will work with the latest technology, and with both breadth and depth in the tasks, you will find a dynamic environment where each project opens up new learnings, contacts, and innovations. Are you ready to join an engaged, competent team of men and women of various ages to contribute to a sustainable society? Then you might be the right person for us!
- You will participate in delivery projects alongside the project team and be involved in all phases of the project from functional design to commissioning.
- Your tasks include, for example, developing functional specifications, programming, and verification/validation in the form of testing at our customers within Life Science.
- You will have close collaboration with engineers and project managers, along with our customers, including participation in project and technical meetings as well as site visits.
- You represent ABB and are an important key player at our customers.
Qualifications for the role
- We are looking for someone with an engineering degree from university, preferably in chemical engineering and/or work experience in process automation from the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or process industry.
- As a person, you are curious, goal-oriented, and communicative, putting the customer in focus and building relationships.
- It is advantageous if you have experience with System 800xA and batch functionality or DCS platforms from other manufacturers.
- You speak and write Swedish and English fluently.
- You should have a B driver's license.
More about us
You will become part of us at ABB Energy Industries, which is part of ABB's Process Automation business area and serves customers in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries as well as the heat, water, and nuclear power industries in Sweden and the Nordic region. We focus on a good working environment with high job satisfaction, the right challenges (both technical and leadership), as well as a balance between work and personal life.
We are located in several places, and today we are more than 50 engineers working together.
The placement for this position is primarily at our office in Kista or Västerås.
