Serkon is now looking for a driven and analytical property economist for assignments within municipal operations. About the role

In this role, you will be employed by Serkon but work as a consultant for the company's clients. As a property economist at Serkon, you will work with budgeting, monitoring, forecasting, and year-end closing work, including annual reports for property operations.

The role requires a combination of analytical thinking and practical understanding of what drives costs in property operations, as well as how investments should be planned and executed. You will work closely with the property manager/CEO and property managers/project leaders.

 

Examples of tasks:

- Financial planning & budgeting – Compile and follow up budgets for operations, maintenance, and investments

- Cost analysis & efficiency – Analyze costs and identify opportunities for savings and improvements

- Accounting & reporting – Prepare year-end accounts, analyze financial key figures, and report to management

- Laws & regulations – Ensure that financial management complies with tax legislation, accounting laws, and property-related regulations

Since the role is specifically focused on property economics, it is important that you have good knowledge of the tax regulations for property companies.

About you

We are looking for someone with experience in property economics and a strong understanding of financial management of properties. You have an analytical and solution-oriented approach and thrive in a role where you can combine strategic planning with operational work. Since the role involves working as a consultant, you need to be flexible and quickly adapt to new work environments and financial systems. You are communicative and able to collaborate with various stakeholders, while also being self-driven and having a strong sense of responsibility.

To fit the role, we see that you have:

- University degree in economics

- At least 5 years of experience in property economics within the municipal or private sector

- Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting within property management

- Knowledge of tax regulations for property companies

- Good understanding of property-related accounting rules and laws

- Very good skills in Excel and experience with various financial systems (e.g., UNIT4 – ERP, Raindance, Visma, or Hypergene)

- Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written

- B driver's license and access to a personal vehicle

You may have experience in both private and municipal property economics, although a municipal economic background is advantageous.

  • Location: Vellinge or Malmö. Serkon has offices in Vellinge, Malmö, Helsingborg, and Växjö.
  • Scope: Full-time, 8:00–16:30 with flexibility.
  • Employment type: Permanent employment with Serkon
  • Collective agreement: Almega/Unionen/AKAVIA
  • Salary: According to agreement
