Job Responsibilities

The Audit Office serves as the expert support for the elected auditors in the annual review of committees and companies. The work largely involves initiating, planning, and conducting qualified audits of the city's operations. We offer a varied and developing job that is carried out independently in close collaboration with others at the Audit Office. The work includes conducting in-depth reviews within operational areas such as education, care, and technical management. The job involves many contacts with the city's employees at various levels and continuous coordination and reporting to the elected auditors.

The Audit Office reviews the finances, operations, and internal controls of the committees, the municipal executive board, and the boards of companies. The team consists of individuals with different educational backgrounds and experiences.

Everyone at the Audit Office actively works with environmental analysis and operational and methodological development. Continuous professional development and networking with other audit offices provide opportunities for good professional and personal growth.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in economics or social sciences and a strong interest in societal issues. You have experience working as an auditor or investigator in the public sector, audit firms, municipal companies, or larger enterprises/organizations. You should have good knowledge of the public sector and democratically governed organizations. Experience in municipal auditing and/or qualified investigative work is an advantage. It is also an advantage if you are or meet the requirements to become a SKYREV certified municipal auditor.

You are accustomed to working analytically as well as writing and presenting reports.

We primarily seek someone with extensive experience in the above areas, but those with shorter experience are also welcome to apply.

About the Workplace

The Malmö City Audit reviews and assesses how the committees and board of Malmö City fulfill their assignments. The City Audit works proactively and supportively with the operations. The ultimate purpose of the review is to provide the municipal council with the basis for the annual accountability assessment.

The City Audit consists of the elected auditors and the Audit Office. The Audit Office is located in the City Hall in central Malmö. Currently, twelve officials work at the office.
