Pediatric Health Care

Gotland's pediatric health care is characterized by the advantages of a small organization with close collaboration.

Here you will work with dedicated pediatric nurses in a team atmosphere alongside doctors, psychologists, and social workers.

One of our pediatric nurses is retiring, and one of our colleagues has decided to study, so we are now looking for two new employees, one permanent position at 75% and one temporary position at 80%, for our operations in Visby. If necessary, work can also be scheduled at BVC Hemse or Slite. The temporary position is primarily until 2025-12-31 but may be extended.

Currently, eleven pediatric health care nurses work within Pediatric Health Care in Gotland, distributed in Visby, Slite, and Hemse. The profession works to support parents in active and shared parenting, discover and prevent physical and mental health issues in young children and their parents, and identify and prevent risks for young children in their immediate environment and in society.

Your Responsibilities

The tasks at BVC consist of running your own clinic with standard pediatric health checks according to the Pediatric Health Care assignment 2020 and the National Handbook for Pediatric Health Care. You are responsible for calling families to the medical appointments you have together with doctors from the child and youth clinic, conducting home visits to our newborns and eight-month-olds, and leading parenting support in groups. As a nurse at BVC, you also have contact with many other services such as midwifery clinics, maternity wards, social services, preschools, and child habilitation.

In your role, you will be responsible for approximately 50 newborns per year if you work full-time. We work with support measures such as Child Safety, conversations with Non-Birthing Parents (IFF), EPDS, Infant Toddler Checklist (ITC), and Lifestyle Questions.

To ensure that you as pediatric nurses feel secure and develop your competencies in your work role, regular training days are organized for all employees at BVC Gotland, and we hold workplace meetings, professional hours, and weekly meetings, both physically and digitally.

Who Are You?

We are now looking for two licensed nurses with further education as a district nurse or pediatric nurse. The positions require a B driver's license and knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to C1.

We are looking for individuals who are flexible, solution-oriented, appreciate working independently but also work well in a group, are engaged, and have a good sense of humor. We consider previous work experience in pediatric health care and training in Motivational Interviewing as merits.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
