Child and Student Health

The Child and Student Health department is a central administrative unit for the health work in Gotland's schools.

In Child and Student Health, school doctors, school nurses, psychologists, social workers, physiotherapists, speech therapists, hearing, vision, speech, and special educators work together. The primary mission of Child and Student Health is health promotion and prevention. Our shared statutory main task is to support students' development to meet the school's knowledge and social goals.

Child and Student Health is a well-functioning and driven organization that aims to provide every employee with the opportunity for personal and professional growth by offering a workplace characterized by community, responsiveness, and the ability to embrace initiative, engagement, and responsibility.

We work with evidence-based methods such as PAX in schools, MHFA (Mental Health First Aid), ABC parent group (All Children in Focus), and the MI (Motivational Interviewing) conversation method.

The psychology group consists of eleven psychologists led by a unit manager, who is also a psychologist. We have a shared office in Visby but also work out towards specific schools. The group has regular professional meetings. We contribute psychological expertise in preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, and adapted school forms. Our workplace is characterized by a climate where we share experiences and knowledge and jointly drive development within the organization. We believe in professional development and have therefore invested in both internal and external supervision as well as training initiatives for the entire psychology group.

We offer 38.75 hours/week, flexible hours, and wellness hours/wellness grants. Within Child and Student Health, we also have regular joint wellness and social activities.

We are now looking for an employee for a temporary position that extends until 2026-08-13, with a possibility of extension.

Your Responsibilities

As a psychologist with us, you will work preventively and health-promoting with consultations, supervision, workshops, lectures, and provide support to students, educators, school management, and parents. You will also conduct psychological assessments and evaluations of individual students. In your work at the schools, you will be part of the school's interdisciplinary student health team.

Who are you?

We are looking for a licensed psychologist. A B driver's license and access to a personal car are required for the position.

It is advantageous if you have previously worked as a school psychologist in central student health and have experience with the tasks that will be performed.

As a person, you are solution-focused, proactive, and self-driven. You have good self-awareness and excellent collaboration skills.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

About the Education and Employment Administration

As part of Region Gotland, we contribute in the Education and Employment Administration to the learning and development of children, youth, and adults. We are responsible for preschools, primary schools, after-school care, adapted primary and secondary schools, cultural schools, upper secondary and adult education, labor market initiatives, youth centers, and the reception and establishment of newcomers. Together, we provide opportunities for lifelong learning.
