We are now looking for a nursing assistant for the pre- and postoperative unit, based in the postoperative department, Reconstructive Surgery Operation (ORK).

Our unit is part of the area of intensive and perioperative care (IPV), which is responsible for anesthesia and surgical nursing at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö.

The pre- and postoperative unit at ORK is open Monday to Friday but is currently undergoing a merger, which means that you as an employee will be able to rotate to our three other pre- and postoperative units in the future with partial around-the-clock operations. The units that will be part of the pre- and postoperative unit are the pre- and postoperative units for surgery, orthopedics, gynecological surgery, and reconstructive surgery. The position involves a base placement at ORK's pre and post-op with planned rotations to our other pre and post-operative units.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In our unit, we work to provide patients with the best possible care before and after surgery. As a nursing assistant in the pre- and postoperative units, you will come into contact with patients (both adults and children) across many different specialties. QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on emergency care/nursing according to the previous program structure or are a trained nursing assistant within the new program structure who has studied all specializations. Additionally, you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. If you also have experience or specialist training in emergency care/pre-postoperative care or other corresponding further education, we consider it an advantage.

You are committed, secure in your professional role, and want to work in a dynamic environment. You find it easy to collaborate and have the ability to prioritize in acute situations. We expect that you, like us, are driven by the desire and interest to develop postoperative care. Additionally, you are motivated to actively participate in the continuous improvement process we are in. Of course, you work according to Region Skåne's values. A criminal record extract and proof of the right to use the title nursing assistant must be submitted before any potential employment.

As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in healthcare and social services. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are offered a new position, you can retain your title as a nursing assistant until June 30, 2033. At any interview/employment, you need to be able to present proof of the protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you do not currently have a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or are covered by the transitional provisions, it means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant and not nursing assistant.
