This is your mission

Within the Security Police's area of operations for cyber technology, the authority's experts in IT security and technical vulnerability analysis gather. The purpose is both to gather information needed for our intelligence work and our preliminary investigations, as well as to ensure that our own systems are secure.

In the role of system administrator, you will be responsible for the integration, operation, and management of systems that are critical to our operational activities. The tasks consist of administering Linux and/or Windows systems as well as network components, both physically and for various types of internal and external cloud services.

You will also work on documenting our environments and automating deployment, configuration, and maintenance.

An important part is to continuously work on security-enhancing measures to ensure that our systems are secure against attackers. You will lead the work on change management in our environments and the deployment of new components according to the authority's processes, which impose high demands on IT security. Furthermore, you will serve as a technical point of contact with other IT operations within the authority.

Your placement is at the headquarters in Solna, and the work is performed on-site, which means that you do not have the opportunity to work remotely. Travel within Sweden may occur.

The qualifications we are looking for in you

Only those who meet the following requirements can be considered for the position.

Requirements:

  • Degree in IT, or you have acquired equivalent knowledge through work experience
  • Experience and a strong interest in IT security
  • Experience in administering Linux or Windows systems
  • Experience with frameworks for automating infrastructure management (Infrastructure as Code)
  • Experience in scripting languages
  • Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Employment requires Swedish citizenship.

You who are applying may also have competencies that add breadth and complementary perspectives. If you can contribute with one or more of the following, it is meritorious:

  • Experience in network architecture and storage solutions
  • Experience in virtualization, container-based deployment, and cloud services
  • Experience in software development
  • Experience in conducting and leading risk analyses and IT security analyses

Employment conditions

Swedish citizenship is a requirement, as employment with the Security Police involves placement in a security class. A satisfactory result in the security screening with a background check, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act, is also required for employment.

This is a permanent position that begins with a six-month probationary period. We apply individual salary setting. Employment also entails an obligation to be placed in wartime.
