Meal Service is now looking for a coordinator for the production kitchen at Katedralskolan who, together with colleagues, wants to contribute to creating joy in food for our diners.

About the role and your tasks

In your role as a coordinator, you will be an active part of the cooking together with your colleagues. You will lead and distribute the daily work in the kitchen and be responsible for ensuring that food, offerings, and service maintain good quality together with your colleagues. Daily tasks include preparation, cooking, special diets, dishwashing, and cleaning. As a coordinator, you will also, together with the unit manager, be responsible for kitchen economics, administration, and workplace safety issues. You will be involved in driving quality and efficiency together with the unit manager and workgroup. Among other things, you will handle food orders, dining room orders, and work in a meal data program. You will be responsible for ongoing dialogue with our partners and their representatives as well as our diners by participating in meal councils, for example. You will also, together with your colleagues, perform the tasks outlined in self-control in accordance with the Food Act and the regulations of the Food Agency.

You will actively work and co-create to contribute to the development and goals of the workplace and the organization. You will represent Lund Municipality in a professional manner by working to implement and enforce the municipality's processes, guidelines, and policies. You will report to your immediate unit manager.

We are looking for you

You have completed a 3-year restaurant and food program or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. You have worked for at least 5 years as a chef and have at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory role. We expect you to have worked with self-control. We would also like you to have experience working with special diets and using a meal data program. If you have completed a leadership training program and have experience leading change, we consider this an advantage.

The role of coordinator requires you to have a holistic view and good leadership skills in that you can lead and motivate others and create participation and engagement among colleagues. You have good communication skills, enjoy development, and see opportunities in changes. You can quickly shift focus and thus adapt to changing circumstances. You are proactive and organize, plan, and prioritize your work effectively. It is natural for you to have a positive, professional, and respectful attitude in meetings with both internal and external partners.

The role of coordinator also requires you to have computer skills and experience working with the Office suite. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

About the workplace

The Meal Service operation, consisting of 46 kitchens distributed across seven units, includes the preparation of meals for preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, and elderly care. Daily, approximately 22,000 portions are prepared by over 200 employees. Meal Service strives to provide good food, promote healthy eating habits, and excellent service.

The kitchen at Katedralskolan serves about 1200 lunch portions to the school's students. The workgroup consists of a coordinator, four kitchen assistants, and three chefs. There is a well-established collaboration with the school operations, and there is ongoing active work with the meal experience.

The Service Administration meets the needs of Lund Municipality's other administrations and municipal companies for service. We have about 600 employees. Together, we work to build and maintain the municipality's buildings, premises, and housing, ensuring they are intact, clean, and functioning as they should. We prepare food for the municipality's children, youth, and elderly; we take care of green areas around the municipality's buildings, and we manage the municipality's vehicles and transportation.
