World Observer for Sweden's Intelligence Service

Do you want to be at the center of events and work with environmental monitoring and early warning within Sweden's intelligence service? Do you want a meaningful job and contribute to a safer Sweden in an uncertain world? The changing global situation means that our defense needs to be strengthened, and the increased intelligence activities against Sweden and the Armed Forces are extensive. The Military Intelligence and Security Service (Must) operates within defense intelligence, military intelligence, and military security services.

Our Offer

We offer you a role where you will be part of a team that creates the conditions for Sweden's intelligence and security service work in the face of current and future global situations. Together with colleagues in the department, you will conduct environmental monitoring and develop structures and working methods that advance the work of the Situation Department. In the role of environmental monitor, a structured skills development will give you the opportunity to continue to grow in your role at the Situation Department and eventually also within Must and the Armed Forces at large. Furthermore, the Armed Forces offers three hours of training during working hours each week.

Main Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities are to work with and conduct ongoing environmental monitoring and structured processing, both aggregated and in-depth. You are also expected to produce written reports in a short time while being part of Must's work related to early warning. Additionally, you are expected to maintain structured cooperation with relevant parts within Must and perform oral briefings. Since the Situation Department operates around the clock throughout the year, you and your colleagues will work shifts with a rolling schedule.

Qualifications

  • Academic degree deemed relevant by the employer
  • Documented ability to master Swedish and English at a very good level, both orally and in writing
  • Experience working with various IT systems and the Office suite
  • Experience giving oral presentations

Meritorious

  • Experience compiling, evaluating, or translating large amounts of information and/or media monitoring
  • Experience in structured cooperation and collaboration between different organizational units
  • Interest in or knowledge of system development and technology
  • Experience working within the Armed Forces or other government agencies
  • Experience in defense intelligence or military intelligence
  • Language skills in addition to Swedish and English
  • Completed overseas service, internships, studies, or equivalent at an embassy or similar

Employment type: Permanent employment starting with a six-month probationary period
Work location: Stockholm
The job involves irregular working hours in the form of on-call duty and shift work.

Personality and problem-solving tests will be part of the selection process. Start date will be agreed upon. The position is open to both civilian and military personnel.
