Family Support Worker for Flens Municipality

The Social Administration provides support and care to the residents of Flens Municipality. The administration has three departments; Authority Department, Children, Youth, Adults Department, and Elderly Department.

Job Responsibilities/Assignments

The Children, Youth, and Adults Department in Flen is now seeking 1 Family Support Worker for our service unit, Support and Treatment. The department conducts active development work, and your commitment and participation are a significant part of the work alongside planning, implementation, follow-up, and documentation.

As a Family Support Worker, you will be part of a team, the Family Team, which is an important preventive measure within our outpatient care.

The goal is for children and parents to be able to live together by increasing protective factors and reducing risk factors. You will work with pedagogical and practical tasks in the family's home and local environment. This may involve strengthening parental skills by introducing structure into the children's daily lives, providing support in contacts with both authorities and the family's private network.

The target group is teenagers and children aged 0-18 years and their families. Tasks regarding adults may also be included to some extent.

The nature of the assignment dictates how you plan and organize your work, and here we see that a flexible working method and a good ability to work independently are assets. Collaboration with social workers and family therapists, as well as other actors, is essential to succeed in the family's change process. As support in the work, there is a team leader with whom you and the team will have continuous contact and follow-up.

The work will be scheduled during daytime, mornings, evenings, and weekends when the family team needs to be available at times when the family is home.

The assignment will also include being a visitation supporter, which means being present during visits when children and parents meet.

Our work is in constant change, and therefore tasks may change and be added based on how needs will look.

This position includes a significant amount of fieldwork, which means outreach and preventive work.

The work of the social services is constantly changing, and this means that the design of this position may change based on needs and legislation.

Requirements for this position

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in social work or behavioral science, or other education and work experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.

We are targeting those who have experience working with children and their families, especially experience working with youth. You have a good ability to build relationships positively and have a trustworthy approach.

You should have experience working in teams where differences are appreciated, but you should also be able to work independently.

We see it as a prerequisite that you are flexible, attentive, have your own drive, and are creative in your work. In addition to competence and experience, special consideration will be given to complementing the group based on personal qualities. The work includes writing implementation plans and documentation.

A B driver's license with a manual transmission is a requirement.

Meritorious

It is meritorious if you have education in or experience of:

  • Social work with youth and preventive measures.
  • Conversation methodology and conflict resolution.

Scope/Duration and Start Date

  • Permanent employment, (TimeCare, daytime, evening, and weekends)
  • Percentage 100%
  • Start date as soon as possible
