Job Description
At the pharmacy preparation unit at the university hospital in Linköping, we prepare individualized medications, including cytostatics and sterile drugs in the form of infusions, injections, and ambulatory systems. The preparation for the individual patient is done with short lead times in direct contact with the healthcare. Our working hours are between 7 AM and 5 PM on weekdays.
The tasks include pre-checking incoming orders, manufacturing, and final control of the preparations. We offer you the chance to join a cheerful team that collaborates in a positive spirit, supports each other, is very responsible, and tackles new challenges together.
Work Group
The pharmacy preparation unit is under clinical pharmacology, whose mission is to promote safe and effective medication use in all parts of healthcare. Here, pharmacists, doctors, nurses, chemists, and laboratory/technical staff work together to meet the needs of healthcare. We already encompass a broad operation with drug analyses, drug information center, clinical trial unit, assignments for the drug committee, clinical pharmacy, evaluation of new drugs, and various support functions for safe medication use via the region's journal system and website. As a university hospital unit, we also actively work with research, development, and education regarding drugs and medication use.
We have a daily life consisting of new opportunities and developments; seize the chance to be a part of it!
About You
You are a licensed pharmacist or pharmacy technician with extemporaneous manufacturing authorization. For those of you who are licensed pharmacy technicians but lack extemporaneous authorization, we will offer a course in extemporaneous drug manufacturing. The course is worth 7.5 higher education credits and will provide full preparation authorization.
You have either worked for a few years or are newly graduated. However, it is an advantage if you have previously worked in drug manufacturing. It is also advantageous if you have experience as a dialysis specialist.
Introduction and training will be tailored based on your educational and professional background. Together with experienced colleagues, you will grow in your role as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician and continue to drive our operations forward at the pace required to meet healthcare demands. Fluency in Swedish, C1 or C2, is a requirement.
To thrive and fit in with us, your personal qualities are important. As a person, you enjoy having many balls in the air. You are service-oriented, quality-conscious, and structured, and can prioritize your work effectively and carefully. The work requires you to be able to work independently as well as in a team. To successfully solve the tasks we encounter in everyday life, we need good communication. Therefore, the position suits you if you enjoy collaboration and are responsive and communicative with both colleagues and other healthcare staff. In addition to good teamwork skills, you are expected to be engaged, proactive, and contribute to developing the organization together with other employees. You have an ability to see the whole picture of the organization and thus be flexible. Being flexible with us means being able to adapt to the current situation and change focus, which is crucial as unpredictable events occur daily. Since manufacturing is a craft, you also enjoy working with your hands. You see challenges and changes as opportunities for improvement and development.
