Your workplace

The Labor Conditions Unit is part of the HR department in Region Värmland and is responsible for the overall work with negotiation issues, labor law, and working environment.

You will be part of a smaller unit with other negotiators and HR strategists, totaling six employees.

We are now looking for a negotiator

with a focus on labor law and wage formation, who wants to contribute to the continued development of Region Värmland.

Your tasks

In the role of negotiator, you represent the employer in labor law matters of both operational and overarching strategic nature. You develop guidelines and action plans, provide qualified advice to the organization and colleagues, and drive and participate in development work and training initiatives. The tasks also include working with areas such as labor law disputes, negotiations, as well as wage formation and employee benefits.

This is an important role in further strengthening our employer brand and creating a trusting collaborative climate within the organization, with politicians, managers, union representatives, and employees.

The role requires that you can independently work with investigation and analysis in the area and drive and coordinate larger processes.

Your knowledge and competencies

To succeed in this role, you have a holistic perspective and work for the best of the organization. You are confident in yourself and can utilize your strengths and weaknesses in a mature way. Valuable qualities in the role include the ability to make things understandable and the ability to create trusting relationships with union parties, management, and politics.

The role of negotiator is complex from both an organizational and operational perspective, so we prefer that you have broad and deep experience in labor law and wage formation. You have the ability to see the whole picture and find it easy to understand the needs of different stakeholders and enjoy switching between strategic and operational work. You should have a pedagogical ability and be able to conduct training and pass on knowledge in a pedagogical manner.

You have an academic education in HR or another academic background combined with experience that we consider relevant for the assignment. You have specialist knowledge and extensive experience in wage formation and labor law, labor law negotiations, as well as law and contract interpretation.

We consider it an advantage if you have experience from public and politically governed activities. Knowledge and experience of pension and insurance solutions, investigative and analytical work, or project management are also advantageous.
