Administrator for Power System Reconstruction

Have you ever considered what would happen if all of Sweden were to lose power and how to effectively rebuild the operation of the power system with minimal consequences for society? Svenska kraftnät is looking for someone to manage, follow up, and develop the operations department's work on reconstruction as an administrator. You will support the implementation of our work to prepare our own operations and the electricity supply at large for handling network failures and severe stresses.

The power system is undergoing a comprehensive transition with a changed production mix and new types of consumption facilities being installed at a rapid pace. To meet the upcoming changes, our current strategies, tools, training, and exercises for the reconstruction of the power system's operation need to be adapted, developed, and coordinated with industry stakeholders.

About the Position

The position involves responsibility for managing, maintaining, developing, and following up on the Operations Department's work on the reconstruction of the power system after network failures. Furthermore, you will:

• Work on processing operational instructions, identifying and implementing necessary changes
• Partially be responsible for exercises with external actors
• Actively participate in dialogue and collaboration with external actors on operational-related issues
• Contribute to mapping needs for the development of routines, training, systems, and tools in the system operation reconstruction
• Participate in collaboration with other departments within Svenska kraftnät regarding the long-term development of the reconstruction plan.

You will play a key role within the Operations Department at Svenska kraftnät with many contact points both internally and externally. The work will involve contacts internally, nationally, and internationally. The operations involve collaboration between Svenska kraftnät and industry companies during difficult operational situations for electricity supply.

You will belong to the Operations Support unit in the System division. The unit has a central role in the Operations Department. In addition to working on network reconstruction issues, dead network start, and manual consumption disconnection, the unit is responsible for preparedness-related issues in the department, all training issues in the department, compliance with grid codes, management of operational instructions/guidelines, and management of all operational-related agreements.

The position is located at our headquarters in Sundbyberg. Travel in the position includes both within Sweden and abroad.

About You

Required Qualifications:
You are communicative and engaging and have an easy time building new relationships and trust as this role involves many contact points within the organization and with the electricity industry at large. You can identify, structure, and prioritize the needs of the organization and make decisions and achieve results. Since you will represent Svenska kraftnät externally, it is important that you are a good representative of the agency and act according to the civil servant role. You are skilled at working both in teams and independently. You are good at collaborating, taking responsibility, and showing courage when requested.

We place great importance on your personal qualities.

We are looking for someone with a university degree or a master's degree in a relevant field such as electrical power, energy systems, or similar, or you have work experience that Svenska kraftnät deems relevant for the position. You also have:

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the energy sector
• Good knowledge of the power system and its components
• Fluent Swedish and English in both speech and writing.
• A valid driver's license (B) is required.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Experience working in operational activities at electricity network companies/control rooms.
• Knowledge of EU regulations related to the transmission network, e.g., SO GL and NC ER.
• Worked with simulator-based training
• Good computer skills and proficiency in MS Office
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups
• Worked in larger organizations
