About the Job
As an IT technician, you will provide on-site user support to employees at the Marine Research Laboratory within the Department of Aquatic Resources in Lysekil. You will respond to IT-related inquiries, escalate issues, receive and place orders for IT products. You will also manage maintenance regarding both hardware and software in client environments (Windows and Mac). The hardware includes tablets and advanced phones. You will collaborate with the other two responsible IT technicians in the other departments of the institution as well as with other IT technicians at SLU. You will also support projects in IT-related matters and may be involved in some data management work.
In the role of IT technician, it also includes ensuring service and maintenance of technical equipment used in the operations (e.g., scales, calipers, cameras, etc.)
Your Background
We are looking for a person who has a completed upper secondary education, good knowledge of IT and computers, and is very service-oriented, reliable, and has good teamwork skills. You have a positive attitude where you believe that most things can be solved and have an interest in problem-solving and are practically inclined. You enjoy collaboration but also work well independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with IT support
- Good knowledge of Windows OS and other Microsoft products
- Knowledge of Macintosh products
- Knowledge of Linux
- Experience with video conferencing systems
- Experience in troubleshooting/installation of hardware
- Good knowledge of Active Directory
- Experience working with ticketing systems
- Experience with GPO and SCCM
- Knowledge of roaming profiles and redirected folders
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
