About the Position

MR M is tasked with leading territorial operations, regional intelligence and security services, as well as military-civil cooperation in the Central Military Region. We work to strengthen military capabilities in the region through collaboration with national, international, regional, and local actors, both military and civilian. We manage and plan subordinate units' command systems and conduct regional defense planning from tactical to operational levels.

The position of Signals Protection Chief is developing, multifaceted, and exciting within a growing military organization with interfaces with all actors operating in the region.

Main Responsibilities as Signals Protection Chief at MR M

• Lead and coordinate signals protection within MR M's area of responsibility, nationally (such as MR groups and home guard battalions) and internationally.
• Responsible for the operation and functionality of signals protection systems at the regional staff.
• Collaboration and coordination regarding signals protection with civilian authorities.
• Functionally lead the staff's service unit (Home Guard command platoon) within signals protection services.

Qualifications

• Trained Signals Protection Chief.
• High school diploma.
• Minimum B driver's license.

Meritorious

• Good knowledge of the Armed Forces' structure and tasks within signals protection.
• Good knowledge of signals protection within total defense.
• Trained Signals Protection Instructor.
• Trained short administrator.
• Trained key administrator.
• Command system officer.
• Knowledge and experience of working in ISUS.
• Good knowledge of the Armed Forces' structure and tasks within cryptography management.
• Experience as Signals Protection Chief at units or tactical and operational command level.

Permanent employment. Start date by agreement. The workplace is Kungsängen. The position is open to both officers and civilians. Travel and weekend duty may occur within the position, to a limited extent. Full-time employment.

Information about the Armed Forces and the Recruiting Unit:

The Central Military Region (MR M) is a military unit and an organizational unit where the Chief and Staff are located in Kungsängen. The organization consists of a Chief with staff, six training groups for training and support of the home guard, and about 7000 home guard soldiers organized into eleven battalions and a number of independent units.

The Chief of the Central Military Region with the regional staff leads subordinate units, collaborates with regional and local actors, leads security and intelligence services, and supports operational and tactical commanders solving tasks within the region. The region also serves as a link between the Armed Forces and civil society, actively cooperating with the county administrative board and the region. If necessary, MR M also leads operations, for example in national crisis situations and support to society. The military region solves tasks in peace, crisis, and war.

The organization and operational area of the Central Military Region cover the geographical counties of Stockholm, Uppsala, Södermanland, Västmanland, Dalarna, and Gävleborg. Training groups and home guard exist in each county.
