Traffic Engineer Wanted in Kungsbacka

Exciting developments are underway in Kungsbacka! We are looking for a traffic engineer for a fixed-term employment of approximately 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

The Role of Traffic Engineer with Us

As a traffic engineer, you will work to make our pedestrian paths, bike lanes, streets, and parking areas functional, safe, and accessible. With good traffic solutions, you simplify everyday life for the municipality's residents and develop the future Kungsbacka with sustainability in focus.

You will work with traffic regulation and develop proposals for increased traffic safety, including from an accessibility perspective. You will respond to referrals concerning traffic issues. Various types of tasks will occur, and reviewing traffic plans is a significant responsibility.

As a traffic engineer, you will be part of a team with operational managers, coordinators, traffic planners, traffic engineers, and landscape architects. You will have contact with the municipality's residents, landowners, and other authorities and organizations on various issues. Occasionally, you will prepare cases for the board. The work will be shaped in the best way possible due to the fixed-term nature of the position, and you will receive mentorship support from a traffic engineer.

Your Profile

You have a good ability to see how different solutions will function from a broader perspective. As a person, you are responsible, take initiative, and are good at collaborating. You can organize your work and adapt your tasks to new circumstances. As a municipality, we want to be at the forefront and hope that you are innovative and bold. You can easily communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Personal suitability is highly valued.

We are looking for someone who has:

• a completed university degree in civil engineering/road design and traffic or similar, or alternatively, many years of experience in the traffic field
• knowledge in road design

It is an advantage if you have:

• knowledge in traffic regulation (LTF)
• a B driver's license

The Construction & Development unit belongs to the Technical Administration under Traffic and Outdoor Environment. The unit includes responsibilities for traffic, streets, pedestrian and bike paths, public places, parks and green areas, lighting, safety, permits, etc. We plan, prioritize, and budget projects and participate in the municipality's goal-setting work. We are a team of a total of 13 people. The Traffic & Outdoor Environment area is also connected to the operational units of Street, Park, Recreation, and Planning & Design.

We offer a full-time fixed-term employment starting by agreement for 6 months with the possibility of extension, provided that necessary decisions are made.
