Agera Värmland is looking for a communicator with social science competence
Do you want to use your communication skills to strengthen democracy, human rights, and inclusion within the gaming world? Do you have a social science background and experience in reaching out through digital and physical channels? Then this could be the role for you!
About us
Agera Värmland is a non-profit organization working for human rights and democracy. We run an anti-discrimination agency, preventive measures against violent extremism, and projects in collaboration with other actors.
We are now looking for a communicator for the project Resilient Gamers, which aims to counter hate and extremism within the gaming world. The project is run by another association, but Agera Värmland is an important partner.
About the role
As a communicator for Resilient Gamers, you will:
✔ Spread the project through digital channels (social media, web, gaming platforms) and through physical meetings and workshops with young gamers in Värmland.
✔ Participate in strategic processes within the project group, where social science methods and analysis are used.
✔ Contribute to the development of self-assessment and coaching tools for youth.
✔ Create content for campaigns that spread knowledge about democracy, inclusion, and resilience against extremism.
✔ Collaborate with gaming communities and associations to spread the project's message.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is independent, proactive, and communicative. You are good at adapting messages for different target groups and can express yourself well in both speech and writing. You are relationship-building, attentive, and used to collaborating with others.
Requirements:
✔ Academic degree in communication, social sciences, or another relevant field, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
✔ Experience in communication work in some form.
✔ Basic knowledge of human rights and democracy issues.
✔ Experience in planning and conducting workshops.
✔ Ability to work independently and in a structured manner.
✔ Very good knowledge of Swedish and English.
Meritorious:
➕ Experience in communication on social media.
➕ Experience from non-profit work, e.g., within non-profit associations.
➕ Experience in collaboration with other actors.
