About the department
The Implementation Department in Visby consists of two sections with different focuses. As a Radio Telecommunications Technician, you will be part of the Telecom Section. We primarily work with preventive and corrective maintenance.
Main tasks
The main tasks as a telecommunications technician involve operation and maintenance measures on parts of the Armed Forces' radio facilities. By operation and maintenance, we mainly mean preventive measures (supervision) and maintenance/repairs, as well as commissioning of the Armed Forces' radio, towers, and masts, as well as other communication technical equipment. The work requires careful ongoing registration, updating, and documentation in support systems. Sometimes the work must be done at high altitudes in masts and towers. Furthermore, it includes handling and responding to questions in the field, providing technical support to the organization and decision-makers. You will collaborate with various units and suppliers and participate in temporarily organized working groups or projects (e.g., during new installations).
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- high school education with an electrical/telecommunications focus (IT/tele, radio communication), or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way that the employer can assess as equivalent
- driver's license at least B (manual transmission)
- the position requires work at high altitudes
- good knowledge of network technology
Personal qualities
Important personal qualities are that you are independent, service-oriented, and have good collaboration skills. You are technically inclined, have good troubleshooting skills, and are quality-conscious. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
MERITORIOUS
- current and relevant experience in service and maintenance of telecommunications systems
- completed military basic training
- familiarity with the Armed Forces' equipment
- instrument measurement technology
- good understanding of radio technology

Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.
