Repair Technician at Destination Gotland

As a Repair Technician at Destination Gotland, you will work in a team of several technicians in the engineering department, where the 1st ship engineer is the supervisor. The job may involve interior maintenance throughout the vessel, where you will often come into contact with passengers, or you may primarily work with machinery-related repairs and maintenance. You represent the entire company and will meet our passengers daily. Therefore, it is important that you are service-oriented, have a positive attitude, and that it is natural for you to always do your best to meet the expectations of the passengers.

Working Hours and Employment Form:

The work is structured in weekly shifts, one or more weeks on board with corresponding time off. Destination Gotland has a collective agreement with SEKO Sjöfolk, which provides salary and insurance according to the collective agreement. The position is a permanent employment that begins with a six-month probationary period.

Application:

You need to attach a seafarer's service extract to your application. We conduct a background check as part of our recruitment processes, and an alcohol and drug test may be performed.

Qualifications:

• You are knowledgeable and interested in the technical work of the vessel.
• You have good skills in welding and machining.
• Authorization as watchkeeping engine personnel or experienced engine personnel (STCW Manila).
• Basic Safety (C10, STCW Manila).
• Certificate for personnel with special maritime security duties (C18, STCW Manila).
• Medical certificate for seafarers (Unlimited service).
• Seafarer's book.
• Passport.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English.

Meritorious:

• Rescue boats and standby boats (C5, STCW Manila).

At Destination Gotland, we are responsible for one of Sweden's most important routes – the sea route between Gotland and the mainland. Our fast ferries create opportunities for both passengers and freight traffic to travel efficiently between Gotland and the mainland, on the routes Visby – Nynäshamn or Visby – Oskarshamn.

We have been operating the Gotland traffic since 1998 and are proud of the trust. Formally, the assignment is from the Transport Administration, but in many ways, the assignment is also from the Gotland community. We see it as our task to contribute to the development of Gotland by always leading the way and creating opportunities for everyone who wants to travel to and from our island.
