In the latter part of 2025, the Årjäng Fire Service will undergo an organizational change where you have the opportunity to help shape the new organization.
The Fire Service in Årjäng Municipality is an independent operation with the municipal board as the political committee and approximately 50 employees. The majority are RIB personnel distributed across two fire stations. Together with other organizations, authorities, and the public, we work for a safer and more secure everyday life through preventive measures and interventions in accidents and crises. We prioritize supporting and helping both internally and externally.
We are now looking for a fire team leader to strengthen our organization. The fire team leaders will be shift supervisors within the fire service, with the fire chief as their immediate supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a fire team leader, you are primarily expected to develop work methods and routines within all parts of the operation. This includes producing guiding documents, action plans, and continuously improving both preventive and operational activities. The role involves extensive contacts both internally and externally. You will also act as an officer in our emergency response operations and be part of a smaller team of administrators.
You will drive development within your area of expertise and manage regulatory enforcement according to applicable legislation for accident prevention and flammable goods. You will provide advice and instructions to other authorities and the public.
Specific tasks for the fire team leaders include:
- Supervision according to LSO
- Sooting and fire protection control according to LSO
- Supervision and permits according to LBE
- Planning and building permit referrals, consultations, and advice according to PBL
- Serving permits according to the Alcohol Act
- Public order law for public gatherings
- Planning and follow-up of internal training and exercises
- Creating structures, instructions, and routines for operational assignments
- Some personnel planning
QUALIFICATIONS
To be suitable for the role, the following is required:
- Post-secondary education in the accident prevention field, at least Supervision A, fire engineer or equivalent
- Experience in regulatory enforcement according to LSO and LBE
- Rescue Leader A / LK 1 or equivalent
- Solid experience within the fire service's operational area
- Experience in leadership and creating structures
- Very good computer skills in relevant programs
Meritorious are:
- Supervision B
- Fire engineering degree with a focus on fire service (RUB)
- Experience from a similar position
- Experienced supervisory officer
- Post-secondary education in fire service, LK2 or equivalent
- BC and/or B96 driving license
To succeed in the role, you need good leadership skills, prioritization ability, and a holistic view for the organization's best. Being a relationship builder and having the ability to collaborate is important. You are empathetic, driven, energetic, and engaged with the ability to independently drive and develop work. Additionally, a B driver's license and good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required.
