About the school

The adapted primary school with a focus on subjects and subject areas is located under the northern principal area. The school is structured into three classes: 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9. The adapted primary school subject areas are located in Hacklehem School's premises. Here, students study five different subject areas: aesthetic activities, communication, motor skills, daily activities, and perception of reality. The subject focus is located in Stenstalid School's premises where students study individual subjects. Each class has a teacher, a class assistant, and several student resources.

The school has two after-school programs, one for students up to 11 years old and the other for students up to 13 years old. We also have an LSS after-school program for older students up to 21 years old. The schoolyard is spacious and close to both forests and playgrounds.

Job Responsibilities

As a substitute student resource, you will work to support students during their schooling and after-school activities. You will support and help students manage various situations, both in their personal development and academic progress. Examples of situations may include after-school activities, teaching, hygiene, and meal situations. The work is varied, and no two days are alike.

Qualifications

Applicants for this position should have completed high school education, and we prefer candidates who are trained childcare workers, after-school leaders, nursing assistants, or have other qualifications that can be deemed equivalent.

Since our students have multiple disabilities, it is advantageous if you have experience with:

• working with children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities
• ACC (alternative and augmentative communication) or TAKK (signs as alternative and augmentative communication)
• low-arousal responses.

For your work with us to function as well as possible, it is important that you are secure, stable, and controlled in stressful situations that may arise.

It is also important that you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances, as we sometimes need to rethink and change certain aspects related to the students. The work requires that you are attentive and can vary your responses, as well as having an interest and willingness to help our students. Since our students have different types of difficulties, it is important that you have a low-arousal response and are clear in your communication. Listening and having good collaboration skills are essential.
