Craft Teachers Wanted in Kristinehamn Municipality

Do you want to help create a good start for children and young people based on their needs and conditions?

We are now looking for three craft teachers, two for primary school and one for adapted primary school.

Together, we work for students' right to a good education, and the staff is the most important resource of the organization. As a teacher, you contribute to the development of the organization in the right direction and provide our students with good conditions to grow and develop into creative, curious, and secure individuals.

In the two positions within primary school, teaching will take place at several school units, which is why a driver's license is a prerequisite. One of these positions focuses on wood and metal, while the other focuses on textile crafts. In the position at the adapted school, teaching occurs at two school units that are close to each other, and you are expected to teach the entire craft subject.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will plan and conduct lessons that include practical exercises, projects, and theoretical reviews. You will teach about different materials and craft techniques, which includes the use of various tools. You ensure that students use the tools safely and appropriately. You encourage students to use their creativity and find solutions to practical problems. You assess students' work and provide feedback on both the finished work and the work process.

The purpose of teaching in the craft subject is to provide students with the conditions to develop:

• the ability to design and create objects from various materials using suitable tools and craft techniques,
• the ability to develop ideas and choose and justify approaches in craft work based on the purpose of the work, and
• the ability to reflect on work processes and results based on quality, expression, and sustainable development.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a craft teacher education (teaching certification is required for permanent employment).

For the position within the adapted primary school, we would like you to also have special education training with a focus on intellectual disabilities.

A driver's license is a requirement for the positions within primary school.

Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form is required.

Experience working with students in need of special support is an advantage.

You should be well acquainted with the school's curricula.

We are looking for someone who is confident and stable and who is a natural leader in the teaching situation, which means you lead, motivate, and create engagement and participation.

You should have a good understanding that students absorb knowledge in different ways and have the ability to adapt teaching based on students' varying conditions.

You are outgoing and relationship-building and find it easy to collaborate. You plan and structure your work.
