Description

We are looking for a special educator for Kronoparksskolan (https://karlstad.se/forskola-skola-och-utbildning/grundskola/grundskolor/kronoparksskolan) who wants to be involved in ensuring that all our students have good conditions to gain valuable knowledge for the future. With us, teaching is adapted based on the group and the individual student's needs, experiences, thinking, and holistic view. We work on language and knowledge development and have a co-teaching system, which means two teachers in each class.

Our students are in grades F-3. We work a lot with language, communication, and social interaction. We want our students to feel that they are involved and take responsibility for the development of society. They should have confidence in their own ability to participate and influence society at large. The teaching should prepare students for active participation in society and develop their ability to take personal responsibility. The goal in grade 3 is for all our students to have very good conditions to actively participate in our democratic society.

Responsibilities

As a special educator at Kronoparksskolan, you will be part of the school's student health team, where collegial learning and collaboration between student health professionals are in focus. Close collaboration between student health, teachers, and other colleagues is a fundamental prerequisite in our work where students are prioritized.

You will conduct assessments, support, and documentation for students in need of adjustments and special support within your work team. Your role includes collaborating with other teachers at the school to teach students in various configurations, such as whole classes, smaller teaching groups, and individually. You are expected to have an active role in the school regarding student health work of a promotional and preventive nature, focusing on accessible learning environments and a language and knowledge-developing approach.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher with a special education degree.

To thrive with us, you need to adapt your teaching to the students' needs, change methods when necessary, and handle unexpected situations. You must have the ability to remain calm in challenging situations, act confidently and consistently, and be a stable adult role model for the students.

You should enjoy working closely with colleagues, student health, guardians, and other professionals to create the best possible support for the students. You actively listen and contribute constructively to the work team. It is important that you plan and organize your work carefully, create clear routines, and systematically adapt teaching based on students' needs. Keep track of documentation and follow-up. You strive to provide students with the best possible teaching and support, continuously evaluate your work, and improve your efforts. To be modern and to allow students to develop as far as possible, you follow research and proven experience in your work.
