Special Education Teacher for Adapted Primary School

Do you want to help create a good start for children and young people based on their needs and conditions? We are now looking for special education teachers for our Adapted Primary School.

Our adapted primary school is part of the northern principal area. Here, students with intellectual disabilities who are not expected to meet the primary school’s knowledge requirements attend. We are divided into subjects and subject areas. Our adapted primary school has students from grades 1 to 9, and we have approximately 50 students in total.

We are now looking for special education teachers to teach in Subjects 1-3 or 4-6. Additionally, we are seeking a third special education teacher to teach in Subject Areas 4-9.

Together, we work for students' right to a good education, and the staff is the most important resource of the organization. As a special education teacher, you contribute to the development of the organization in the right direction and provide our students with good conditions to grow and develop into creative, curious, and secure individuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main responsibilities include planning and conducting lessons for our students. The role also involves planning the tasks of your student resources and, together with them, taking responsibility for the development of the organization so that each student is given the best possible conditions for growth and learning. We are a team that helps and supports each other. In addition to academic development, students also need support in their social development. Our students often have care needs that you will need to manage. Close collaboration with guardians and other authorities is necessary for the best interests of the students.

We are looking for someone who consciously works to create a good learning environment that is challenging, stimulating, and encourages students' curiosity and learning. All students should meet adults who see each student's unique opportunities, create trusting and secure relationships, and show enthusiasm and engagement in their interactions with the student.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Licensed special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities.

In these positions, collaboration is key, which means you have a good ability to listen and communicate. You must be flexible so that you can see opportunities in changes and altered conditions.

You need to be a stable person who can maintain your calm and focus on the right things even when the workday does not go as planned.

You must be good at creating contacts and maintaining your relationships, and you need to have the ability to understand the perspectives of students, colleagues, and guardians.

To succeed in this position, it is important that you are clear and have a good understanding of the students' different conditions so that you can adapt your way of conveying your message to the individual student and the group.
