Social Worker for the Department of Children and Family

We are now looking for you who want to make a difference for those we serve! Växjö Municipality is Kronoberg's largest employer, working every day, year-round, for our residents, businesses, and visitors. Together, we create a sustainable tomorrow and an attractive municipality to live, work, and thrive in – today and in the future. This means a job where we challenge ourselves to think innovatively, learn, and develop together. Do you want to be part of a larger context where you can truly make a difference? Welcome to us at Växjö Municipality!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You now have the chance to be part of the Department of Children and Family!

We are looking for social workers for the support and investigation team for ages 0-12. You will be responsible for issues concerning children and young people at risk, those who are in distress and need support, as well as parents who need assistance in their parenting role or in cooperation with the other parent. The assignment consists of preventive and early interventions, investigations of individual needs according to current legislation, and the establishment and follow-up of support and treatment measures.

In the foster care unit, we need a child caseworker, which means you will follow up and consider placements in foster homes, maintain contact with the foster children, their parents, and other important adults in a teamwork context in the triadic parenting model. You will also be responsible for providing any necessary support to biological parents.

In both roles, the work also involves collaboration, both internally and externally. You will have close support from the manager, specialist, and other team members. We offer professional development and ongoing supervision. The job responsibilities include documentation and authority exercise according to current legislation, as well as conversations with children and parents. Work within Children and Family is permeated by the approaches and tools within Signs of Safety.

We are looking for employees for both permanent positions and temporary contracts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and good knowledge of current legislation. You should have professional experience in social work concerning children and young people. You must have a good ability to work independently in all aspects of case management and development, as well as being able to collaborate easily with others and build trusting relationships. Documentation and investigation are important parts of your work, so you also need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as computer skills. Since we work according to Signs of Safety, it is desirable if you have knowledge and experience in this area. Experience in investigative or treatment work within individual and family care is an advantage, as is experience working with foster care in the role of child caseworker.

OTHER

Employees of Växjö Municipality should reflect the diversity present in the municipality. We welcome applicants regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity.

As a permanent employee, you will typically be placed in our organization in case of war mobilization.
