Planning and Building Unit

The Planning and Building Unit consists of 21 people with different competencies and characteristics contributing to community building in Laholm Municipality. Within the unit, there are planning architects, building permit administrators, housing adaptation caseworkers, surveying engineers, and GIS engineers.

The unit is responsible for a large part of the community building process, and our tasks include detailed planning, building permits, and implementation, supervision according to PBL, housing adaptation grants, establishment and maintenance of the municipality's mapping, surveying activities, GIS development, and more.

About the Position

As a building permit administrator, you are part of the Planning and Building Unit where everyone contributes to creating the physical environment in Laholm Municipality.

In addition to your immediate colleagues who work with building permits, you will have colleagues who work with housing adaptation grants, detailed plans, and mapping, surveying, and GIS activities. You will also have close collaboration with the administration team responsible for central administration.

You play an important role in our operations by helping to ensure quality and efficiency in our administrative processes when our residents and businesses apply for building permits. Communication is a crucial part of the job, and the role involves a lot of contact with private individuals, builders, and developers.

As a building permit administrator, you will have many administrative tasks throughout the building permit process, including mail handling, certain registration of documents, dispatching and sending decisions, phone and email contact with private individuals, builders, etc., invoicing, coding supplier invoices, archiving cases, and more.

As a building permit administrator, you are also the system manager for the unit's operational system ByggR/Nova Bygg and e-service. In this capacity, you will help develop the use of the system and support colleagues in its operation. You will be involved in system updates, building dashboards in visual management, and rules in ATOM for Nova, among others. Within the unit, there will be several people working with our operational system, but the overall responsibility lies with this role.

Are You the One We Are Looking For?

We are looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education, for example, in public administration or other education that the employer deems equivalent, or alternatively documented experience of at least 2 years. It is important to understand the responsibilities that come with working in a public authority, such as regarding authority exercise, public access, and confidentiality, as well as the responsibility for public documents. This means you have good knowledge of the Local Government Act, Administrative Procedure Act, Planning and Building Act, etc.

It is an advantage if you have previously worked as a system manager/administrator in the operational system ByggR/Nova Bygg or with the development of IT processes.

At the same time, you have good collaboration skills and work well with colleagues in a responsive and smooth manner. The tasks can vary during periods, which requires you to be flexible and able to plan your work easily. You thrive in a supportive role while also having the ability to take initiative and provide good service both internally and externally.

The assignment requires that you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

About the Employment

Start date according to agreement. Interviews may be conducted continuously during the application period.
