Medical Technology (MT) is a department within the Medical Technology and IT unit (MIT) responsible for both medical technology products and IT operations in Region Dalarna. MT has about 70 employees located at the hospitals in Falun, Mora, Ludvika, and Avesta.

We contribute to ensuring that healthcare has access to safe and appropriate equipment throughout its entire lifecycle, from procurement, acquisition, and installation, through preventive and emergency service to decommissioning. Our goal is for the equipment to function well, that both staff and patient safety are high, and that the medical technology operations are conducted cost-effectively.

Medical Technology provides support and assistance to healthcare operations within a broad technical area covering, among other things, electricity, electronics, data/IT, gas & fluid technology, optics, rehabilitation & training, sterilization technology, fine mechanics, and mechanics. The tasks require responsible employees and can sometimes be demanding, but well-executed work often brings back a lot of positive energy in the form of appreciation from our customers. We are looking for employees who can contribute with their expertise to create high patient safety and high availability for medical technology equipment in healthcare.

Medical Technician - Medical Technology, Sterilization Technology - Falun

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a technician in the field of Sterilization Technology. You will work with corrective and preventive maintenance as well as purchasing and delivery inspections of sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, washer disinfectors, and flush disinfectors, as well as refrigerators and freezers used for medical purposes. The position will also include maintenance of the Region's steam central and water treatment facility. Our technicians are trained as new equipment is purchased and developments occur in the areas.

The workplace is in Falun, but since Medical Technology is a county-wide operation, some assignments may involve travel within the county to perform service at other locations.

It is important that you can work independently, are communicative, and can maintain a good dialogue with both healthcare staff, colleagues, suppliers, and other parties in the Region. You are genuinely interested and find it rewarding and motivating to work with service in healthcare and within the field of Medical Technology. We highly value responsibility and quality awareness and the importance of documenting everything done on important equipment.

Qualifications

General requirements:

• You have some secondary education suitable for the tasks, or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent.
• You have experience in practical service work within any of the areas of electricity, mechanics, or electronics.
• You have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form so that you can communicate in writing and verbally with customers and colleagues.
• You have experience working with troubleshooting and repairs of advanced technical equipment.
• You can read and understand technical documentation in English.
• You have good computer skills.
• B driver's license (Manual)

It is advantageous if you:

• Have experience with medical technology equipment.
• Have electrician training, authorization B.
• Have experience in boiler operation.
• Have experience working with sterilization equipment.
• Have experience in servicing refrigerators and freezers.
