Temporary Position as Cartographer or Surveying Engineer at Ludvika Municipality

Ludvika Municipality is in an expansive phase with growing businesses and an increasing population. In a central role is the Planning area within the Cultural and Community Development Administration. Planning works broadly with community building and development and consists of a close-knit team of experienced and new employees. Within Planning, there is a newly created unit, the Geodata Unit, where we are now looking for a temporary employee.

Workplace

The Geodata Unit is responsible for maintaining the primary map, producing new construction maps, managing and developing the municipality's geographic information, and maintaining the address and apartment register. We are now looking for someone who is trained as a cartographer or surveying engineer and who wants to work in our new geodata team.

Job Responsibilities

• Produce customized map products for internal and external customers
• Measurement assignments such as surveying, staking, position control, and verification measurements
• Register objects and surface formation of land cover areas to plan the operation and maintenance of the municipality's street and park facilities
• Structure storage and manage geodata and metadata

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is trained as a cartographer or surveying engineer, or has other education and/or work experience that we consider equivalent.

You need to have several years of work experience in municipal measurement and mapping activities and be familiar with the TopoCAD/TopoDirekt system.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

You should have good communication skills and be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

• GIS, especially QGIS
• FME Form/Flow
• AutoCAD
