We are now looking for employees who can contribute to the development of the operational and preventive activities of the rescue service during peace, crisis, heightened readiness, and ultimately war.
As an administrator at the Fire and Rescue Unit, you will primarily work with support for municipal rescue services, based on research and proven experience that enables the rescue service to be prepared and have the necessary capability to carry out effective rescue operations. The work also includes support in the fire and accident prevention area. With us, you will have the opportunity to prepare others.
Your responsibilities and tasks
Your tasks include:
- investigating, reviewing, preparing, and handling cases and incoming questions related to the unit's area of responsibility according to LSO.
- formulating assignments and goals as well as developing methods and routines.
- collecting, analyzing, and processing data and other materials.
- writing or delivering materials for reports and proposals for decisions as well as content in various types of information products.
- working with standardization and norming issues.
- preventive work, such as collaborations and agreements with other actors.
The work includes both internal and external contacts, such as other authorities like the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning, the National Board of Health and Welfare, the Swedish Work Environment Authority, universities, the Armed Forces, the Police, but above all the municipal rescue service organizations and the public.
Your knowledge and competencies
We are looking for someone who has:
- a degree in fire engineering or other education that the employer assesses as relevant.
- good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.
It is meritorious if you have:
- worked within municipal rescue services (operational and/or preventive).
- additional training in rescue services for fire engineers.
- in-depth knowledge of regulations such as LSO and selected parts of the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's building regulations and the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations.
As all employees and leaders at MSB, you are expected to work in a task-oriented, development-oriented, and dialogue-oriented manner, have good self-awareness, and contribute by being a role model.
Your working method is goal- and result-oriented, yet with a service-oriented approach towards others. You also have a good ability to understand complicated linguistic materials and the ability to produce high-quality documents yourself.
About the employment
We offer you a permanent full-time position starting with a six-month probationary period.
Your workplace will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel may occur in the employment.
Swedish citizenship is a requirement for employment at MSB as it involves placement in a security class. For employment, a satisfactory result in the security screening with background check is required, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
About us
At the Fire and Rescue Unit, we are about fifteen employees, most of whom work in Karlstad or Stockholm. We have an activity-based office where you can choose your workplace according to your needs.
