Today's and Tomorrow's Electricity Prices in Sweden

The electricity prices in Sweden vary significantly depending on the time of day. Today, March 6, 2025, we have seen a large variation in electricity prices, with the lowest prices during the night and the highest during the morning and evening peaks. Here we present today's electricity prices and a forecast for tomorrow's prices.

Today's Electricity Prices

During the night, electricity prices have been very low. Between 00:00 and 05:59, prices ranged from 2 to 4 öre per kWh. This was a perfect time to charge the electric car or run a dishwasher at minimal cost.

In the morning hours, between 06:00 and 09:59, prices rose significantly and peaked at 33 öre per kWh. This is a time when many households are active, increasing the demand for electricity.

During the day, from 10:00 to 15:59, prices dropped again to a more affordable range of 1 to 6 öre per kWh, making it a good opportunity for energy-intensive activities.

In the evening, between 16:00 and 20:59, prices rose again, peaking at 25 öre per kWh, before they began to decrease again overnight.

Tomorrow's Electricity Prices

The forecast for March 7, 2025, indicates that electricity prices will start at 12 öre per kWh at midnight and gradually increase throughout the night. By 08:00, prices are expected to peak at 41 öre per kWh.

After the morning peak, prices will drop slightly during the day, and from 12:00 to 13:59, they are expected to decrease to around 8 öre per kWh, making it an ideal time for energy-intensive activities.

In the evening, prices will stabilize and hover around 19 to 23 öre per kWh until midnight.

Interesting Facts About Electricity Prices

During the cheapest hour today, it cost almost nothing to play video games, take a shower, bathe, or charge the electric car. A shower cost only 2 öre, while a bath cost 4 öre. Charging an electric car cost 42 öre, which is very economical.

On the other hand, during the most expensive hour, a bath cost a whopping 247 öre, and charging the electric car cost 2479 öre. This highlights the importance of planning energy-intensive activities during the cheaper hours.

Annual Electricity Consumption

If we had the lowest electricity price all year round, it would have cost only 126 kronor to heat a normal-sized house of 160 sqm. With the highest prices, the same heating would cost 7438 kronor. This gives a clear picture of how much electricity prices can impact household expenses.

Keep an eye on electricity prices to optimize your energy costs and reduce your electricity bill!
