Electricity Prices in Sweden Today and Tomorrow

Electricity prices in Sweden vary significantly throughout the day, and today is no exception. Today, January 28, 2025, we see a considerable variation in electricity prices, with the lowest prices early in the morning and the highest prices in the afternoon and early evening.

Today's Electricity Prices

Today, electricity prices start at 23 öre per kWh between 00:00 and 01:00, which is today's lowest price. Prices then gradually rise throughout the day, peaking at 145 öre per kWh between 16:00 and 17:00. In the evening, prices drop again but remain high until 19:00, before starting to decrease more significantly. By the end of the day, at 23:00, the price is back to 47 öre per kWh.

Activities and Costs Today

During the cheapest hour of the day, it costs only 33 öre to run a dishwasher that consumes 1 kWh. Taking a shower, which consumes 4 kWh, costs 88 öre, while a bath, which requires 6 kWh, costs 132 öre. For gaming enthusiasts, it only costs 11 öre to play games on a computer that consumes 0.5 kWh.

During the most expensive hour, between 16:00 and 17:00, the same shower costs 870 öre and a bath costs a whopping 870 öre. The dishwasher costs 217 öre, and playing games costs 72 öre. Charging an electric car, which requires 60 kWh, costs 1327 öre during the cheapest hour and 8709 öre during the most expensive hour.

Tomorrow's Electricity Prices

Tomorrow, January 29, 2025, electricity prices are expected to be slightly lower than today, but with a similar pattern. Prices start at 49 öre per kWh at midnight and peak at 128 öre per kWh between 08:00 and 09:00. After that, prices gradually decrease throughout the day, reaching their lowest price of 22 öre per kWh between 23:00 and 00:00.

Activities and Costs Tomorrow

With the lower prices, it may be a good opportunity to plan energy-intensive activities for late evening or early morning. A shower that consumes 4 kWh will then cost 88 öre, and a bath will cost 132 öre. Running the dishwasher costs 33 öre, and playing games costs 11 öre during the cheapest hours.

Interesting Facts About Electricity Prices

Did you know that if we had the lowest electricity price of today for the entire year, it would have cost only 3983 kronor to heat a normal-sized house of 160 sqm? This compared to 26129 kronor if we had the highest electricity price of today for the whole year. This shows how significant electricity price variations can be for households' energy costs.

To maximize savings, it is wise to plan electricity-demanding activities during the hours of the day when prices are lowest. This can lead to substantial savings for households and businesses that rely on electricity.
