The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse problems across the country. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården has recently undergone an organizational change, transitioning from LVM care (Care of Misusers of Alcohol and Drugs) to LVU care (Youth Care Act), and is now in an exciting phase of development. Currently, the institution consists of four units but will expand to five units with a total of 31 places during the coming year.

Job Description

Do you want to work with young people in critical developmental phases of life? Young people who have lost their way and need help finding their path forward. We offer a job with very varied tasks and challenges. You will meet all types of personalities, dealing with mental health issues and neuropsychiatric disabilities. You will encounter substance abuse and criminality, but you will also meet the person behind the diagnosis and behavioral problems. Much of the satisfaction in the work lies in following a young person's development from hopelessness and acting out in a life-changing process towards a more dignified life with housing, relationships, studies, and work.

We are now expanding our quality unit with a Treatment Secretary. We are looking for you who want to participate, influence, and make a difference. As a Treatment Secretary at Gudhemsgården, you are part of the quality unit; you will be one of five treatment secretaries. We offer an interesting and pleasant workplace with varied and stimulating tasks. As a Treatment Secretary, you are an active part of the interdisciplinary team. The team dynamically performs target group assessments by working with structured risk, needs, and receptivity assessments. You are also responsible for ensuring that young people receive the right interventions in accordance with the assignment, drawing up treatment plans, and working to involve the young person in their treatment. The Treatment Secretary follows up on treatment goals and documents the interventions. The Treatment Secretary convenes and leads meetings regarding the young person's placement and is a central part of leading the work with care interventions. The work is carried out in collaboration with the social services of the placing municipalities and the institution's various expert functions such as psychologists, teachers, special education teachers, nurses, and treatment pedagogues. An important part of your role includes supervision and coaching for treatment staff in their daily work and ensuring that documentation is carried out in accordance with guidelines.

The work is varied and requires flexibility and responsibility. It implies in large parts that you are a structural carrier, meticulous, and organized. You understand the value and context of collaboration; it is natural for you to guide and support your colleagues. You are the initiator who anchors and implements decisions.

Gudhemsgården currently has two treatment units for non-compulsory school-age boys and two investigation units MBB – Reception and Needs Assessment, where the focus is on stabilizing the young person's situation and well-being and breaking criminality, substance abuse, or other socially destructive behavior.

You will have the main responsibility for the planning of the young people on one of our units.

Qualifications

• Relevant academic education as a social worker or other behavioral science education that the employer deems equivalent and which comprises at least 180 credits.
• Documented experience of independent planning work and, if possible, leadership experience to carry out planned interventions together with other professional groups.
• Experience from working with young people and/or institutional care is meritorious, as well as training in structured risk and needs assessment instruments.

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment and begins with a six-month probation period. Start date by agreement. Selection and interviews take place continuously during the recruitment process.
