to apply for the job
We are now looking for a specialist doctor in psychiatry for a senior physician position at the psychiatric inpatient care in Halland, located in Varberg.
About the position
You will serve as a senior physician within the inpatient care and work in close collaboration with other staff and colleagues within the department. The position involves working across all wards within the inpatient care to contribute to stable and even staffing levels. During the initial six months, the work will primarily take place at our addiction ward. The role includes participation in on-call duties and consulting work with the somatic clinics at Halland Hospital.
In some cases, the work may involve you, together with other specialists, covering vacancies with both advanced notice and shorter notice, which requires flexibility and adaptability.
As a clinic with a clear future focus, supervision is a central part of the assignment. You will supervise junior doctors as well as residents (AT and ST doctors), which requires commitment to educational matters, an interest in knowledge sharing, and a desire to develop the next generation of colleagues. Your own professional development is also important and is planned in dialogue with the head of medicine.
About the workplace
We are a family-oriented clinic where we care for each other and step up when needed. The specialist doctors in our operation consist largely of former resident doctors who have chosen to stay, which we see as a strong indicator of our work environment and culture.
We value good care quality and a good work environment, and we have excellent results in both patient and employee surveys. Among other things, we have been in the top tier for psychiatry placements in SYLF's resident ranking for several years, which we are very proud of.
Within the psychiatric inpatient care in Varberg, ten specialist doctors currently work together with several resident doctors and junior doctors. The operation comprises six wards:
- Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PIVA), which has nine beds and an emergency department in direct connection
- Ward 20, which is a forensic psychiatric class 3 ward with six beds
- Ward 21, which is a forensic psychiatric class 2 ward with twelve beds
- Ward 22, which is a general psychiatric ward with eight beds plus two user-controlled admission beds
- Ward 23, which is a psychosis ward with twelve beds
- Ward 24, which is an addiction ward with ten beds
In addition, we are responsible for ECT treatment and LARO (Long-Acting Opioid Replacement Therapy) activities in our premises.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed doctor with specialist competence in psychiatry. You have a broad psychiatric interest and a commitment to development issues and supervision.
As a person, you are goal-oriented, structured, and confident in your professional role. You have good leadership qualities and a well-developed communicative ability that allows you to clearly convey your clinical assessments and decisions.
You have a strong clinical foundation and let your experience guide your work. At the same time, you have an open and non-hierarchical attitude and enjoy collaborating with other professions.
We value good teamwork skills, as collaboration between different professional groups contributes to a positive work environment and a professional approach to our patients. Previous holding of leadership positions is considered an advantage, along with an interest in educational and supervisory matters!
Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
We warmly welcome your application!
