The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland, with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric operations, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works for equal care for all and nursing based on research and clinical experience.

The clinic has moved to a newly built building where the care environment is characterized by the idea that the care environment plays a significant role in promoting health. The living and working environment is supported by modern technology and research, evident in the lighting and communication systems. The clinic is climate-smart through self-sufficiency in, among other things, electricity and heat.

About the Position

We are looking for an assistant nurse, caregiver, or treatment assistant for the Treatment Unit Compass, located on the 2nd floor of the psychiatric building. The unit offers group therapy in outpatient care for patients with various forms of psychotic conditions. The goal of the treatment is to improve functional level, facilitate lifestyle changes, and reduce the consequences of the illness.

Upon employment, there is an induction plan based on the individual's professional experience, with supervisors available for support in daily work. There is 1 position available.

Responsibilities

Working in psychiatric outpatient care is a highly varied and exciting job. The core of our operations is the meeting with the patient. As an employee, you contribute knowledge and engagement that make people feel safe.

At Compass, we work with different professional roles with a focus on group therapy, although individual patient contacts may occur. You assess and treat individuals' mental well-being from a health and holistic perspective. The group therapies offered by Compass follow national guidelines for psychosis operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a approved nursing education as an assistant nurse, caregiver, or treatment assistant, and an interest in psychiatry. If you have further education in ESL, NEKT, and IMR, or general experience within psychiatry, it is meritorious but not a requirement.

Your role involves contact with patients, so it is important that you have good interpersonal skills and language proficiency. As an employee, you become part of a workplace where everyone sees each other and helps out for the patient's best interest.
