The Centre for Musculoskeletal Disorders Umeå is responsible for Orthopaedics in the northern healthcare region, which covers the four northernmost counties. The centre is divided into the sections Arthroplastics and Tumours, FACTUM, Trauma, and Spine, all of which conduct thousands of patient visits, treatments, and surgical procedures annually.

The Centre for Musculoskeletal Disorders, Umeå, is a University Hospital Unit (USVE) where research and student supervision are a natural part of clinical daily life.

Within the Centre for Musculoskeletal Disorders Umeå, there are outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, a day surgery unit, an administrative unit, and an orthopaedic technical centre. Our care is characterized by a holistic approach where many different professional categories are engaged in the patient's care process and collaborate for the best results, with the vision of keeping Norrland on its feet and in motion.

The Orthopaedic Ward has close collaboration with Umeå University through our newly opened clinical education department. Training students and employees is close to our hearts, and through the new department, we achieve a unique blend of highly specialized care and clinical education. We offer you a good introduction and ongoing competence development through our internal training program with specialization in orthopaedics. You can choose whether to work on a traditional AB schedule or on the 3:3 model. Choosing to join our working time model gives you increased opportunities to influence your schedule, shorter weekly working hours, and extra compensation for working inconvenient times. We are now looking for nurses for our ward, welcome to join us!

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better.

On the ward, you will have the opportunity to learn a broad range within orthopaedics, from planned admissions to emergency care with trauma care and advanced spine surgery. Here, nurses play an important and clear role in the care team, where you as a nurse motivate and lead other care staff.

As a nurse, you work closely with the patient, and the work involves identifying risks, assessing, addressing, and evaluating the patient's various care needs. We work in fast care chains where mobilization and return to previous life are sought quickly after surgery. As a nurse with us, you perform standard nursing duties for an emergency care ward, such as medication management, patient and next-of-kin conversations, and planning.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are an engaged colleague and contribute with knowledge and joy, who feel responsible for the patient's well-being and the continued development of the operations.

You are a licensed nurse with an interest in orthopaedics and emergency care. You can handle several tasks in parallel and see it as a challenge to work at a varied pace. You enjoy collaborating with people in different professional categories and actively contribute to a good work environment through your knowledge and engagement.
