Do you want a varied job where no day is the same? Do you thrive on meeting new people, quickly adapting to new workplaces, and making a difference where it matters most? Then you could be our next cook. Måltidsservice is now looking for an engaged and service-oriented cook for our pool who wants to become part of our team. As a pool cook, you work in our kitchens within preschools, schools, and elderly care, and you are the appreciated colleague who creates security and continuity when regular staff is absent. Svedala is an attractive municipality with opportunities for all of life. We work towards attractive and health-promoting workplaces with the aim of offering operations of the highest quality.

The Assignment

As a pool cook, you are an important resource for the entire Måltidsservice. You work in several different kitchens and contribute your skills where the need is greatest. The role suits you if you enjoy variety, adapt easily, and thrive on meeting new colleagues and operations. You will have the opportunity to work in both preschools, schools, and elderly care, which provides a varied daily routine and broad experience. No day is the same, but the goal is always the same – to serve delicious, nutritious meals with high quality and professional service. As a pool cook, you treat every kitchen you work in as your own for the day. You work independently, take responsibility, contribute to job satisfaction, and quickly become a natural part of the team. The pool assignment involves great flexibility in the content of the work, but not in the form of employment. You have a full-time position with a fixed schedule. What varies is which workplace you are assigned to. You normally receive information about your placement before the workday, but sometimes the workplace may change with short notice or during the day based on operational needs. Therefore, you need to be comfortable with adapting quickly and feeling secure working in different kitchens.

In the role, you will among other things:

  • Prepare and serve meals according to menus, recipes, and current quality requirements.
  • Prepare special diets according to operational routines.
  • Plan and prepare production for upcoming days.
  • Order food and handle digital ordering systems according to current routines and budget.
  • Work according to self-control, food legislation, and the Swedish Food Agency's recommendations.
  • Perform daily and periodic cleaning routines.
  • Register food waste and meal reporting in our digital systems.
  • Contribute to a good work environment and report deviations or faults in premises and equipment.
  • Collaborate with preschools, schools, elderly care, and meal management regarding changes and development.
  • Be a good ambassador for Måltidsservice and build good relationships with guests and colleagues.

The pool assignment involves great flexibility. You often receive information about the workplace with short notice, and sometimes the workplace may change during the day. Therefore, you need to be comfortable with adapting quickly and feeling secure working in different kitchens. A pool supplement is paid for the assignment.

Competence

We are looking for you who are a trained cook or have other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience working in large kitchens or restaurant kitchens and feel secure working independently. You have good knowledge of food hygiene, self-control, and special diets, and are accustomed to using digital systems in your work. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

A B-driver's license and a car are required as the work involves moving between the municipality's operations.

To thrive as a pool cook, we believe you are:

  • Flexible and enjoy a varied job.
  • Independent and secure in your professional role.
  • Solution-oriented and see opportunities instead of obstacles.
  • Service-oriented and always put the guest's needs at the center.
  • Quick to adapt to new workplaces and routines.
  • Responsible and structured.
  • A team player who builds good relationships and contributes to a positive work climate.
  • Communicative with a professional and respectful approach.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

What We Offer

At Måltidsservice, you become part of an operation where quality, job satisfaction, and development are at the center.
