In modern offices in the heart of Norrköping, a development team is building digital solutions for an entire city. We now have an opening and are looking for a Senior System Developer who wants to help build services that are used for real – by residents, businesses, and decision-makers.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who want to take a central and driving role in our skilled development team – someone who enjoys finding smart, well-thought-out solutions regardless of whether it involves a web app, mobile app, API, or system integration. With a genuine interest in software development, you are eager to share your knowledge and contribute to raising the competence level within the team.

You have years of experience in system development with a broad technical base, deep knowledge of software architecture and secure system development, as well as good experience with Kubernetes and container-based environments. Knowledge of databases and handling large data sets is a plus. We recruit based on competence – regardless of whether your knowledge comes from university or self-drive, combined with years in the industry.

We work agile and primarily use TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, React, SQL, HTML, CSS, Git, Kubernetes, and Linux – although other technologies are also used. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English and contribute to a positive and open atmosphere where experiences and ideas are shared freely.

Your Responsibilities

You translate business needs into well-founded technical decisions and create innovative, stable, and secure solutions for the municipality's various needs – from designing and developing to deploying and maintaining the finished systems. You guide the team in architecture and design issues and drive the work with secure system development as a natural part of the process.

Through code reviews, technical discussions, and mentoring, you contribute to establishing common guidelines and best practices. Handling multiple projects in parallel is a natural part of everyday life, and we value a structured approach when priorities change.

At the Unit for Development and IT Governance, we develop and maintain secure digital services and integrations. We are in an exciting phase of development where we are setting up a new architecture based on microservices, an API platform, and a data warehouse. We develop not only for Norrköping Municipality but also for the municipalities in the regional e-service cooperation Cesam Öst, and we also contribute to national development in collaboration with other municipalities.
