Region Västerbotten – Geriatric Centre, Psychogeriatrics (Ward 2)

The Geriatric Centre is a specialist clinic for patients requiring both acute and planned geriatric care and rehabilitation. A comprehensive assessment of the patient's medical, physical, mental, and social functioning during illness is conducted by multidisciplinary teams. Diagnostics, treatment, and rehabilitation are provided in both inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on the patient's individual needs.

Psychogeriatrics, Ward 2, has 11 beds and provides specialized psychogeriatric care, treatment, and rehabilitation for individuals with cognitive diseases and behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), regardless of age. Patient care and treatment are based on individual needs and are delivered by well-functioning teams. The ward works with nursing strategies and person-centered care.

Job Description

As a nursing assistant here, you contribute with knowledge and engagement that makes people feel safe.

The role of a nursing assistant includes nursing care work together with nurses. You perform medical interventions based on the patient's condition and prescriptions. You collaborate with other professions in the care team, other healthcare providers, and the patient's relatives.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a certified nursing assistant education. We would appreciate it if you have professional experience with individuals with cognitive diseases.

In addition to your nursing competence, we value your ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and colleagues. As a person, you are engaged and positive. We also value your interest in contributing your knowledge to develop the operations within the clinic. Personal suitability will be given great weight.

As of July 1, 2023, "nursing assistant" is a protected professional title. This means you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social care. You apply for the certificate of protected professional title for nursing assistants from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you have already received this certificate, we request that you attach it to your application.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 3-6 months, start date: 2026-09-01 or as agreed.
Working hours: Shift schedule.
