Description
We are looking for two engaged and confident youth leaders who can contribute to creating a meaningful and inclusive leisure time for children and young people in Biskopsgården.
The employment falls under the Welfare and Leisure Department of the Social Administration Hisingen, and more specifically at Leisure Unit 3, which focuses on children and young people in Biskopsgården. Leisure Unit 3 collaborates closely with the "School as an Arena" initiative and nearby schools. The position will contribute to deepening the collaboration and creating increased opportunities for more children to participate in after-school activities, as well as improving the quality of the offered activities.
Your workplace is at Vårvinden Youth Centre. You will work to some extent at the youth centre, but the majority of your work will take place in one or two nearby primary schools. Vårvinden is an HBTQI-certified activity, which implies a clear commitment to creating a safer, more inclusive, and more conscious environment.
Responsibilities
The work in both school and leisure activities is characterized by relationship-building work, both towards children and young people, their guardians, and our collaboration partners.
Building relationships with students is one of the primary tasks, in order to subsequently be able to guide and refer them to after-school activities, either at the school or at meeting places in the local area.
Examples of responsibilities:
- Being present at the school during and after school hours based on needs and times identified together with the parties.
- Informing about existing cultural and leisure activity offerings at the school, in the area, and at our nearby meeting places.
- Receiving actors who market or hold activities during and after school hours.
- Being present before, during, and after activities to identify support needs for invited activities or leaders.
- Leading and participating in activities during and after school hours based on jointly identified needs.
- Activities are primarily carried out at "School as an Arena" schools but may also occur at other locations.
With you as a key person in our deepened collaboration, we hope that existing cultural and leisure activities will reach more children and young people, and that more children and adults will engage in club life.
Qualifications
For this position, you need to have completed a youth leader education or other relevant education, as well as previous work experience from working with both children and young people.
The position suits you if you are confident in yourself, have an easy time connecting with children and young people, and can build good relationships with both colleagues and collaboration partners. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, administrative work, supervision, and project management. You are structured and solution-focused, and passionate about working with participation and influence.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience of working in schools.
- Experience from club life/associations.
- Experience of working with guardians.
- Experience of working in a multicultural context.
- Experience of complex collaboration processes.
- Language skills such as Turkish, Arabic, or Somali.
- Experience of using the KEKS logbook.
- Category B driver's license.
Are you interested in contributing to the development of our operations and creating better conditions for more young people to experience a meaningful leisure time? Then perhaps you are exactly who we are looking for!
