What does the role offer?

As Production Manager at Svarvmekano, you will hold a central role in a modern mechanical workshop focusing on cutting machining and manufacturing of customized components and parts.

The role combines operational leadership with production planning and improvement work. You will have personnel responsibility for approximately 15–20 people in production, where you are responsible for workforce management, safety, and competence development. You report to the CEO, are part of the management group, and work closely with technology, quality, purchasing, logistics, and maintenance to create an efficient production flow.

Main areas of responsibility include:

• Plan and prioritize production based on capacity, delivery times, and resource needs.
• Lead and develop employees and create conditions for a well-functioning team.
• Be responsible for employee reviews, salary setting, and personnel matters.
• Maintain ongoing customer contact regarding production and deliveries.
• Drive improvement work and develop working methods and processes based on LEAN/Six Sigma, including ensuring competence supply for staff.

This is a role for you who thrives in an operational environment and understands that leadership sometimes means sitting in planning meetings and sometimes means helping out where needed. You will work full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility options. Production runs partially "Lights out" in highly automated cells where staff are primarily present during the day, combined with on-call staff. You will be based at the premises in Östra hamnen in central Malmö.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are an experienced leader from the manufacturing industry and who have a good understanding of how production works in practice. You have likely worked as a Production Manager, Production Supervisor, or in a similar role where you have had responsibility for people, planning, and results. You are comfortable with systems and work effortlessly in business or production systems. Experience with Monitor is advantageous. You communicate fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and have good knowledge of English. You also have experience working with LEAN.

As a person, you are confident in your leadership and have the ability to create trust among those around you. You like to stay one step ahead rather than just putting out fires, but you are realistic enough to know that reality doesn't always follow the plan. Therefore, you need to be flexible, solution-oriented, and secure even when conditions change.

You believe in freedom under responsibility and lead through dialogue, clarity, and trust rather than micromanagement. You are unpretentious, genuinely interested in people, and collaborate easily, while having the integrity to set boundaries and make decisions when the situation requires it.
