Shipping in Sweden is facing major changes. At Trafikverket Ferry Services, we are undergoing a transformation process towards electrification, climate adaptation, automation, and digitalization, which will impact our 70 ferries, 750 employees, and 22 million passengers. Trafikverket Ferry Services aims to be at the forefront and drive development towards more sustainable and smart solutions.

According to our long-term plan, Vision 45, Trafikverket Ferry Services works to achieve carbon-neutral ferry operations by 2045. We are working on the electrification of the ferries, and Vision 45 also opens up for using smart digital solutions to reach climate goals. To achieve these goals, we now need to hire a Shipping Engineer for our Technology and Environment Department. The position is located either at Trafikverket's regional office in Gothenburg (Vikingsgatan) or Stockholm (Solna Strandväg).

As a Shipping Engineer/Project Manager, you will be part of the Technology and Environment Department, which currently consists of 16 employees, a Maintenance Manager, and a Technology and Environment Manager. The department plays a central role within Trafikverket Ferry Services, providing support while driving continued development. To adapt to environmental and climate requirements, a large part of the job duties will involve electrifying and introducing digital solutions on new and existing vessels. In collaboration with operational operations, districts, and shipyards, the department ensures that the result unit has effective support in the technical area.

Some of the duties you will have include:

• acting as project manager for various types of projects related to the ferry company's shore facilities
• initiating, executing, documenting, and managing projects
• responsible for monitoring technology, environment, quality, time, economy, and working environment in different stages of the projects
• preparing technical specifications
• participating in the procurement of consultants and contractors
• providing support in technical solution, procurement, and warranty issues
• applying for necessary permits and handling contacts with relevant authorities and suppliers
• responsible for communication with internal and external project stakeholders
• retrieving and registering documents in the Swedish Transport Administration's management system
• monitoring and participating in the establishment of framework/purchase agreements

Qualifications

You need to thrive in a role with significant responsibility where you are flexible, self-initiative, and have good ability to collaborate and build relationships with both colleagues, managers, and external individuals/groups. You are goal- and solution-oriented and driven by development and continuous improvements. You have high integrity and an ethical and moral approach. The position also places high demands on your communication skills. The Project Manager will be the link between the operations, the clients, and the suppliers, making a structured approach important.

We are looking for you who:

• holds a Master of Science degree or university college degree in civil engineering or alternative education/degree combined with experience
• has several years of experience independently leading and driving construction/electrical power projects towards set goals regarding time, cost, and content, with at least 2 years as a project manager in a client organization
• has experience from procurement of consultants and contractors through the Public Procurement Act (LOU)
• has experience working with budgets, forecasts, and financial follow-up
• can express yourself well orally and in writing in Swedish and English
• have a valid driver's license for passenger cars

It is meritorious if you:

• have experience in electrical and power supply
