Do you have a strong passion for environmental and public health issues? Are you a skilled communicator and collaborative partner? Then we may be looking for you for the position of Environmental and Public Health Inspector at the Public Health Department.

At the Environmental Administration, you have an important mission and work with issues that affect society and its inhabitants in the short and long term.

Description of Duties

As an inspector at the Environmental Administration, you work individually but in close proximity to your colleagues. The assignments vary in character and difficulty, offering a mix of fieldwork at businesses and office work or work at other locations.

In your work, you prevent ill health through supervision based on the Environmental Code and the Radiation Protection Act. You will perform supervision at public health facilities, such as schools, preschools, swimming pools, and sports facilities. Additionally, you may work with other supervision areas within the Public Health Department. In addition to supervision, you may handle incoming cases, such as notification cases and complaints.

The inspector role involves having good contact with the municipality's residents, business owners, and other authorities, which requires good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different groups. You will be an important link between the Environmental Administration and society, and your efforts will contribute to creating a healthy and sustainable environment for everyone.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university degree in natural sciences or other education that the employer considers relevant for the position. We would like you to have experience as an environmental and public health inspector and good knowledge of the Environmental Code. The work requires that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You also need to have a B driving license and good basic IT skills.

It is meritorious if you have education in environmental and public health, environmental law, or other relevant further education in the field.

As a person, you are self-reliant and structure your own approach and drive your processes forward. You are clear and ensure that your messages reach the right people. Furthermore, you are calm and collected in different situations and can focus on the right things. The job suits you if you are flexible and adapt easily to changed circumstances. Last but not least, you collaborate and relate to others in a listening and smooth manner.
