Description
Sweden's security situation is changing, and the demands on authorities' internal security are increasing. We are now looking for a Senior Security Officer who wants to contribute to developing and strengthening the County Administrative Board's consolidated security work.
The position is located within the Internal Security Unit at the Business Support Department. Your workplace will be at our office in Malmö. Travel within the scope of work may occur. The position is permanent with a six-month probation period. Start date as soon as possible according to agreement.
The Internal Security Unit is responsible for the authority's internal security and works within areas such as security protection, physical security, information security, personnel security, fire protection, internal crisis management, and civil defense. We offer a developmental role where you will have the opportunity to work both strategically and operationally in a socially important activity.
Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Security Officer, you play a central role in developing, coordinating, and implementing the authority's internal security work. The role involves broad responsibility where you combine strategic development with operational support to the business.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- coordinating and further developing the authority's internal security and security protection work,
- conducting security protection analyses as well as risk and vulnerability assessments,
- developing, maintaining, and managing steering documents, routines, and processes,
- providing qualified support and advice to the business on matters concerning internal security work and security protection,
- planning and conducting internal training, information campaigns, and supporting activities,
- administering and managing security systems and contributing to the development of security technical solutions,
- driving development within physical security, information security, personnel security, and other parts of internal security,
- contributing to the authority's work with crisis preparedness and civil defense,
- participating in both development work and operational security cases that arise within the unit's areas of responsibility.
As an employee with us, you have three roles: employee, colleague, and practitioner. In the role as an employee, you represent the authority; together with your colleagues, you contribute to the overall result; and as a practitioner, you create public value based on your professional expertise.
Qualifications
The County Administrative Board strives to have employees with different characteristics, prerequisites, and life experiences. It is the interplay between the employees' differences and similarities that constitutes one of the County Administrative Board's success factors.
We are looking for you who have:
- an academic degree in security, law, social sciences, crisis preparedness, or another area that the employer deems relevant. Alternatively, you have other post-secondary education combined with several years of relevant experience in qualified security work.
- at least five years of experience working independently with security protection and internal security work in an organization with complex operations.
- experience in applying the Security Protection Act, the Security Protection Ordinance, and relevant regulations in practical security work. Experience in independently conducting, reviewing, or leading the work with security protection analyses.
- experience in independently developing, anchoring, and introducing governing documents, routines, or processes within the security area.
- experience in providing qualified and business-adapted support in security matters to managers, employees, or other functions in the organization.
- experience in planning and conducting training or information campaigns within the security area for target groups without their own specialist competence.
- ability to express yourself clearly and correctly in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
- Swedish citizenship.
It is meritorious if you have:
- experience of security work within public administration or other activities covered by security protection legislation.
- led development work or projects within the security area and been responsible for planning, coordination, implementation, and follow-up.
- practical experience of information security work, for example risk assessments, information classification, or drawing up security requirements.
- experience of analyzing needs and drawing up requirements for physical security measures.
- experience of specification, administration, or management of security technical systems, for example access control systems, intrusion alarms, or other technical security solutions.
- experience of working with crisis preparedness, continuity management, or civil defense.
- Category B driving license.
To succeed in the role, you are structured, analytical, and self-initiating. You have high integrity, professional security behavior, and a good ability to drive issues forward without losing the overall perspective.
You are confident in your competence, unpretentious in collaboration with others, and have an easy time switching between strategic, administrative, and practical tasks. The role places high demands on teamwork, service orientation, and the ability to communicate clearly with different parts of the business.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Security Classification
The County Administrative Board has an important coordinating role during societal disturbances and therefore we place high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. Some of our positions are security classified and may also involve war-time placement at the authority, which means that a security investigation needs to be conducted before a decision on employment is made. In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
