About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation, remand prisons, and client transport.

Job Description

You are part of the team working closest to the clients – you are the one who locks and unlocks, escorts clients to various activities, and ensures that daily operations run smoothly, always with a focus on security. You will receive two weeks of paid induction. You will work both day, evening, and weekend shifts.

This is a fixed-term position lasting 1 year.

Qualifications

Malmö Remand Prison is one of Sweden's High-Security Remand Prisons, which places high demands on a strong security mindset and adherence to many established routines.

Therefore, we place great emphasis on your personal suitability. You are secure, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. You enjoy working together with others and communicate clearly. You can also act physically when required. You share our belief that humans can develop and change.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Complete upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
• Work experience (Internships and volunteer work are not equated with employment)
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Good computer skills

The following is also meritorious:

• Work experience from the prison and probation service, security work, service work, psychiatry, or care and nursing
• Ability to communicate in languages other than Swedish

Interviews and selection will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
