Within the Department of Care and Elderly Care, full-time work is the norm. This means that all permanent employees are fundamentally employed on a full-time basis. The night patrol is responsible for scheduled night visits and handling safety alarms throughout Uppsala Municipality during the night hours. The work involves a high degree of independence while being part of a dedicated team that together contributes to safety, care, and quality of life for our users.

The night patrol operates from Nyby Home Care, Svartbäcken Home Care, and Sävja Home Care. The work shift begins with reporting and reviewing documentation before you and your colleagues head out to the municipality's home care areas. As a substitute, you work flexibly across all our teams. During the night, you conduct both scheduled visits and interventions following incoming safety alarms. Working hours are 21:35–07:15.

Description of duties

As part of the night patrol, you are to provide good care based on the individual's needs, with great respect for the person and their self-determination. You contribute to enabling the user to live an independent, active, and meaningful life based on their conditions and needs.

The work includes:

  • performing care interventions in users' homes
  • performing delegated health and medical care tasks from licensed personnel
  • documenting according to the Social Services Act
  • communicating and collaborating with users, relatives, colleagues, and other professions
  • working to promote health and contributing to the development of the operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, we see that you:

  • have relevant experience working within care and elderly care
  • preferably have experience performing health and medical care tasks delegated by licensed health care personnel
  • can independently and without hindrance communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing. This is a requirement to ensure patient safety and correct documentation in the work
  • are accustomed to using digital aids such as computers and smartphones
  • have a valid B driver's license
  • feel confident driving the car in the role.

It is an advantage if you:

  • are a trained nursing assistant with a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare
  • have experience with night work
  • have experience documenting in systems such as LifeCare.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.

An employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve being placed on the war establishment.

Salary form: Hourly wage.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
Start date: According to agreement.
