Do you want to drive Regionservice's sustainability work forward, focusing on reducing the organization's impact on the environment and climate, as well as coordinating our work for safe chemical management? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are looking for an environmental controller who will work across the county and for the entire Regionservice. The work is based on current legislation, our self-control, and Region Örebro County's Program for Sustainable Development. The role involves both strategic and operational work with a focus on environment, climate, and chemicals.
The environmental controller coordinates the internal environmental organization with environmental and chemical representatives in our operations and participates in both internal and national networks.
The position is located within the Property Management department, where environmental issues and the need for specialist knowledge in the field are constantly growing. Today, we are 14 employees who together contribute to managing and developing Region Örebro County's premises for the future.
We are located in newly renovated premises in central Örebro.
ResponsibilitiesYour task is to drive and support Regionservice's sustainability work, with a particular focus on environmental, climate, and chemical issues.
The position includes among other things:
- Provide support in implementing politically set goals in the Program for Sustainable Development.
- Coordinate the internal environmental organization, including environmental and chemical representatives.
- Collaborate with other administrations within Region Örebro County, such as the Health and Medical Care Administration, the Public Dental Service, and the Sustainable Development Support Unit.
- Participate in national networks.
- Lead and participate in projects and carry out change management.
- Develop and conduct environmental training.
- Contribute to developing sustainability requirements for new and renovation projects.
- Handle authority contacts during inspections and permit applications.
- Manage governing documents within the environmental field.
- Monitor compliance with current laws and regulations within the environmental and chemical fields.
The role is broad, and the right person must enjoy working with many contact points to drive the work forward.
QualificationsYou have an academic education in the environmental field with a focus on natural sciences, environmental science, or equivalent competence assessed by the employer as equivalent. You have good knowledge of environmental and chemical legislation. We would like you to have experience from previous work in toxin-free environments and chemical safety.
Experience from change management and project management is meritorious, as is previous experience from environmental and/or sustainability issues from the public sector and/or other large organizations.
As a person, you are proactive and driving, and find it easy to collaborate within and outside your own subject area. You are analytical and can express yourself well in speech and writing. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities such as a good ability to collaborate with others, the ability to look beyond the immediate situation, and see opportunities.
