Safety Warden for Vellinge Municipality

The Safety Wardens are part of Vellinge Municipality's work on safety and crime prevention. The operation works closely with residents, associations, businesses, and other community actors to create a safe, secure, and pleasant Vellinge. As a Safety Warden, you become part of an engaged team that works both preventively and incident-driven through visible presence, relationship-building work, and collaboration. Together, we contribute to increasing safety and strengthening the quality of life for everyone who lives, visits, and works in the municipality.

Job Responsibilities

As a Safety Warden, you work both incident-driven and strategically to increase safety, reduce crime, and prevent unwanted incidents in Vellinge Municipality. Through presence at strategic locations and dialogue with people who live, visit, and work in the municipality, you build relationships and contribute to increased safety. The work involves observing, documenting, and reporting deviations that may affect safety. You also work with various focus areas related to a safe and tidy Vellinge, which is an important part of the municipality's crime prevention and safety-building work.

The working method allows for relevant assistance to be called upon when needed, such as police, security guards, rescue services, ambulance, or municipal emergency services. In the role of Safety Warden, you have no police powers. A large part of the work involves being outdoors in the municipality's environments and moving between different strategic locations on foot, by bicycle, or by car. The tasks are varied and may involve long shifts with extensive movement in outdoor environments.

You are a trustworthy adult who easily creates contacts and builds relationships with children, young people, and adults.

Working hours are scheduled for all days of the year and include day, evening, and weekend work. The hours may be adjusted over time based on the operation's needs and experiences from the ongoing development work.

Qualifications and Merits

The person we are looking for has at least a completed upper secondary education and holds a B driver's license with at least five years of driving experience. You have a good command of Swedish in both speech and writing and have good ability to communicate with different target groups. It is an advantage if you also master additional languages.

Good swimming skills are required for the position, and it is an advantage if you have training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). You have experience working in information and reporting systems and feel confident in documenting, reporting, and handling information in a structured manner.

We would like you to have work experience within social work or within the area of safety and security. Experience from working as a Safety Warden or within leisure activities, healthcare, the security industry, or other operations that the employer deems equivalent is advantageous. You are accustomed to meeting people in different situations and have a professional and service-oriented approach.

The work involves daily movement on foot, by bicycle, and by car, as well as outdoor work during all seasons of the year. It is therefore an advantage if you have good physical fitness and enjoy an active job. You have the ability to maintain calm, focus, and good judgment even in pressured and stressful situations, and can act securely, independently, and responsibly when the situation requires it.
